Totally agree. Had the wife's 540i at the dealer today and saw an older touring model. We both agreed it would have made our transition from her SUV so much easier.

Thinking of adding an AC Schnitzer front splitter to the G31, bit pricy @ £745 + fitting but I think it’ll look pretty good, have added a link below, what’s you guys think?

A good choice, an original part, but for plastic it’s a little expensive, in my opinion; if it were made of CF, then the price would be justified. Why not install it yourself? I installed mine myself, took about 30 minutes.

Yeah it is a little pricy for plastic but all ACS stuff is, I paid £110 for an ACS vinyl rear bumper protector.

If I get the splitter I’m also going to get the bonnet, front bumper & the ACS front spoiler painted & most likely ppf’d so would make sense for them to fit the splitter at the same time.
Also would like to get a set of ACS front springs & rear ride height adjusters just to finish it off & sharpen up the handling a little

Good choice! I also want to do this, but only the bumper and hood and only after updating the paint on them. The headlights have already been covered with ppf after they were updated (replacement of glass, daytime running lights and blocks for them)Now they are crystal clear))).

I have them...still in a box though, need to get them fitted, hoping to do that in a few weeks now, just haven't had the time so far.

Splitter is nice but expensive..... certainly sets it off and fills the gap, works well on the LCi too, but I won't be doing it.

I reckon I’ll wait until you fit your springs & then see how yours sits before deciding on the splitter, I don’t wanna be bashing it into speed humps

Going have to put a set of tyres on it soon

How you liking yours?

Am taking mine to Das Autos at Santa Pod tomorrow, keen to find out how quick it is over the 1/4 mile, should be a good morning out

I'm liking it a lot thanks.

It's in for an end of warranty inspection next Monday and going to get them to check the rear suspension. It seems to lower itself when I stop and switch off sometimes, even on level ground, but certainly does it on my drive if I reverse down the slope, so not sure if it's supposed to be like that?
If it's all OK I'll get the ACS suspension done a few weeks after.

What were your times then? Hope it went well.

I've still got the runflats with loads of tread, don't like them but may wear them out before swopping to Non run flats. What tyres are you looking at?

I lost the first one of low quality on the highway at a speed of 200+, the second one was broken while crossing tram tracks.
but its price is only $70) I ordered two from China to have a spare.

Didn’t do that well best was a 12.9, I got four runs in. The first with TCF off but started losing traction around 80mph & had to feather the throttle. Other 3 tc on but around 80mph again started getting a vibration & the car felt as though it was cutting power/tc cutting in.
Doesn’t do that on the road so very strange.
Was mostly vw’s Audi & seat with a few Bm’s.
The bloody 35i used to run 13.1 & I know the G31 is much faster so don’t know what was going on.

Was going PS4S ZeroPressure but am now thinking go flat PS5 or GoodYear F1 asy6

Shame about that, perhaps the tyres needed more heat? not that I've ever done a run, so no expert. You obviously have plenty of grunt if you're loosing traction at 80mph

I've always ditched the run flats ASAP but was thinking I would see if they have improved this time seeing as Goodyears are supposed to be better than some others, not that impressed, it can skitter across uneven surfaces on bends. I'll likely change mine before they wear out for the G/Y 6's only as I had the Assy 5's on the 340 and they were good, a little softer that the MPS4s but still liked them.

Somewhere on here there was a guy who used PS5 with x-drive and had issues with the x-drive, he changed the tyres and problem went away. Can't remember if it was a 5 or 3er I'll see if I can find the post.

I've always fancied trying Vredestein Ultrac Vorti but not sure how well they would work with the x-drive & if they would be in tollerance for the front / rear %. Had the Wintrac Extreme S on the last 2 F3x's through the winters and they were brilliant I even ran them into May one year just to wear them out as they wouldn't have lasted anothe winter, surprisingly good.

Strange that it’s never done/does it on the road, gotta be the tyre/track & maybe me not knowing how to keep the car stationary while do a burn out to heat the tyres with an x drive, was easy enough with the E92

Up to around an 1/8th a mile the times are pretty good
60ft 2.07
330ft 5.52
1/8th mile 8.38
1000ft 10.85
Then a lowly 12.93 for the 1/4

For comparison an m550i is
300ft 5.2
1/8th 8.4
1000ft 10.6
1/4 mile 12.5

Cheers I’ll have a look for that thread.

I had GoodYear asy 3’s on the 35i & liked them a lot, I thought they were as good as the MPS3’s & a little better in the wet, unfortunately I only got 6,000 miles out of the rears & around 20k out of the MP4S that I replaced them with. Having said that the current tyres had 5mm of tread all round when I bought the G31 & now around 3,800 miles later they are down to 2mm.

Impressive, you're just as quick as a M550i

Iv'e currently got RFT assy 3's on mine they had 6/7mm when I got the car in June, I've done around 4k since then so I best check the depths !!

Put a set of Michelin PS4 ZPs on it a couple of weeks ago, have only driven it back from the tyre shop (the long way) so only done 15 miles on them, initial impression very good.

Unfortunately the G31 has developed an air leak on the right rear air strut…which is a bit of a shit. Gotta get it up in the air with wheel off & have a look & spray with soapy water to find where it’s leaking.
Initial research says failed airbag (53,000 miles) supposedly good for 80-100,000 so maybe something else like a hose or connection.

A repair kits for the bags available £480 plus fitting, new strut & airbag from my local bmw md £1,161 but if I replace the whole assembly on one side I’d wanna do the other as well.

Found a couple of alternative suppliers online, Miessler are just as expensive as getting them from MD & Aerosus are suspiciously inexpensive at £720 each.
Strangely after standing for 15 days it dropped sometime Monday night as was ok up until Tuesday when I noticed it, started car & suspension came up to ride height but had dropped by 15mm when I checked this evening.

Checked the ride height tonight & after reinflating yesterday evening when I started it up, the right hand side hasn’t dropped & all four corners are sitting at 705mm measured from my garage floor to top centre of wheel arch, strange.

Gonna pop the wheel off sometime over the next few days & take a look see if anything’s obvious & check the valve for the top air line, have been told they sometimes leak there.

Had a set of PS4 ZP’s fitted a few weeks ago, hadn’t done many miles since, around 30 until today when I had the chance to take the G31 out for a few hours. Tyres are a big improvement over the P7’s rear & Primacy 3 fronts. It grips & steers in very nicely indeed now, ride isn’t bumpy/harsh or noisy. Tbh it was ok with the old rf & I didn’t really feel the need to swap to go flats, so very pleased & would recommend them.

On another note after having the tyres fitted & me not using the G31 for fifteen days the right hand side rear suspension suddenly dropped by 15mm overnight, soon as I started the engine it raised to its proper height but then dropped again over night. I then took it out for a bit of a drive, suspension at correct height again & then it stayed at correct height 705mm all corners from floor to top dead centre wheel arch for five days without it being driven but then dropped again by 15mm but this time front & rear right hand side two days ago but has stayed at correct height since.
Firstly I thought it was the rear air bag but as the front also dropped I now think it’s not the bag but a sensor or something. Will drop it by my tame mechanic & get him to read the codes.
Am wondering if it’s to do with all four wheels dangling for an hour & half whilst the new tyres were being fitted.

Other than that I’m still enjoying my G31

Got my G31 540i xDrive one year ago and sadly haven't had time to take good photos yet, but I'll do it next year when the winter is over here in Germany

I'm really happy with the car, had the E90 LCI and E89 as predecessors what were really great cars in my opinion.

Installed the M Performance CF mirror caps & kidney grills and Eibach Prokit lowering springs. But don't want to change too much, because I like the OEM style

PS: Bought the M Performance CF front lip and side skirt extensions during the Black Friday week, think they will arrive next week and hopefully I'm able to install them at the end December. Pictures will follow when everything is installed.

Nice job on the garage floor too

Love touring in your color with M package. Sometimes, when I see one on the road, I begin to regret that I got into a black car again...

Have decided that I’m going to treat the G31 to that AC Schnitzer front splitter, think it’ll just finish it all of nicely
