Turned Off Burbles with BM3: So Refreshing

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Decided to upgrade my BM3 CS tune to the CS+ tune and liking it so far, but Also decided to turn off burbles and it’s so nice! Totally forgot how aggressive the car sounds without it especially with my AWE Switchpath non resonated exhaust and intakes.

Now only if I could get rid of that off throttle bark in sport plus....

Yeah, i also deleted all that stupid fake stuff. When i drive in town at 30 mph and a 54 year old man comes in an M4 that sounds like a popcorn machine..
Just stupid. Same thing with rev matching, also deleted.

I've been saying this for years. Burble tunes are dumb. Brings me back to the carbureted era when cars would get backfire explosions when they needed a tune up. One of many reasons I got the base model. And with the equal length exhaust going on, it's only going to sound better.

+1 for no burbles. The exhaust sounds so much better.

First thing I did when I tuned my car was disable burbles. Sounds so much better!

Thought I was in the minority, but I really dislike the burbles. Sounds artificial and like the car is broken to me. I want to hear a clean engine and exhaust note.

I might try this. In what way does the exhaust note sound different once disabled? Just on deceleration?

^when you lift off the throttle it will no longer burble/pop. I turned burbles off for a bit and it’s strange how quiet and smooth it sounds, totally different car

Never been a fan of burbles. Seems like every car has burbles now even Hondas.

They go out of their way to tune the car not for more power but for burbles. There's a riced out but pretty quick Mazdaspeed 6 in my area that literally gets on the gas and lets off every 3 seconds to keep popping down the street, at least I ran into him on a highway down in Mexico and totally destroyed him.

Burbles are for little boys that need attention

I cannot stand burbles, I just went completely catless and did a stage 2 ots tune and disabled burbles but since there’s still snow on the roads I can’t test it yet.

Sitting in the garage and revving the engine I still hear some burble but I’m hoping it’s different when on the road

I’ve watched a few videos of F8x owners doing the same. Sounds like dog shit. Especially when catless

I don't love the sound of the S55. I feel like a very subtle burble (nothing overboard, no gunshots) adds a bit of character that unfortunately is lacking from the stock engine sound. Something like Aggression 0.7 , duration ~1.0.

I just had my MPE installed the other day, and thought it was obnoxiously loud (I also have DP's). I was even on the "oem" duration of the burbles and hated the exhaust and sound.

I removed the burble yesterday, and love the sound of the car now. It feels and sounds "natural" I guess you could say. Like someone posted before. Burbles are for little boys that need attention, and now when I let off throttle I'm not being judged lol. Feels like I have an M car and not a Honda anymore.

I have a question guys. In sport plus, when I let go of the throttle, the bark/antilag thing is SUPER annoyingly loud. Does having burbles make it less pronounced? If so, I may add a mellow burble setting as that antilag bark is more annoying than the burbles. Ugh.

It’s definitely not antilag
