I may be beating a dead horse but is there a reason why PD's haven't adopted 45s for issue? Recoil? Magazine capacity?

No benefit. Penetration and stopping power aren't that much better when weighed against magazine capacity, cost of ammo, etc. The 9mm loads we use are specific to law enforcement.

The same reason many forces went to the .40 cal as well. 10mm were to hard to shoot for lots of people and the same is true of the .40 over 9mm. A .45 has zero stopping power if you can't shoot it or hit the target.

They did, years ago. Some still have .45s. I think MA State Police issues .45auto M&Ps. If not MA, one of the New England states.

Like Sedan said, modern 9mm ammo is just as effective as .45 and the pistol can hold more ammo. Also, training and supply costs less.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head; 147 grain though. We are also authorized to use two other approved ammo options.

Lucky guess. The HST is the most popular 9mm duty round. Probably because the FBI uses it. I carry HST 124g.

What kind of nail polish is that? Just a base transparent layer correct?

Here in NY you have to have a license plate on the front and rear of the vehicle. Registration and inspection stickers go on the bottom of drivers side windshield. But right over the border in PA, one LP on the rear of the vehicle with registration sticker attached to it and inspection sticker the same place as in NY. When patrolling do you see any advantages or disadvantages to either method of display?

Not really! As long as I can see the plate and run it over the air or via the MDC, that's all I care about. When I run the plate, I'll find out if the registration is valid or not, if the registered owner has wants/warrants, etc.

No front plate was an attitude adjustment summons for us.

I had no front plate here in SoCal for 30+ years and never got cited for it. The law requires it here but I guess the cops were just cool about it. I now have both a front and rear plate because I got California Legacy plates, which are black and gold and I like the way they look.
