245/35R20 with 285/30R20 ?
Hi!
Just interested. Why stock tyre size 245/35 pairs with 275/30? In that case diameter and sidewall of front tires is bigger than rears. But if we compare 245/35 with 285/30 in tyre calc we will see that this size is more closer to each other. Why so?) I was using 245/40R20 with 275/35R20 on 7er F01. And bigger sidewall of front wheels are always annoying me. I dont want to repeat that story on my G30 so i'm thinking to use 245/35 pair with 285/30 to make same look for front and rear wheels. Any opinions? Thanks Last edited by RDTeam; 05-21-2019 at 01:38 PM.. Reason: Title mistake |

It depends which wheel you're talking about and how wide it is.
You can only run so wide of a tire based upon how wide your wheel is. So BMW probably didn't go with the 285/30/20 because the width of that is over 11" (11.2" to be exact) whereas the 275/30/20 is only 10.8" wide. Unless your wheels are over 9" wide then I'd stick with the 275s, IMO. For example: My BMW M Sport 664M wheels are 19x9 (9" wide) and the widest tire you'd ideally want to run is a 275. You could probably fit a 285 but it wouldn't look and fit as good as the 275. Hopefully that makes sense and helps you out.
