BMW display key

I have a question if I can retrofit a display key into my BMW 520i g30.

Display key: 9858012-01

I have the same and also a related question, so didn't want to start another thread

New keys can presumably be cut (or custom ordered) and coded. If I don't care about the physical key, can a used keyfob (display, or standard) be re-coded to my vehicle also?

IIRC only BMW in Germany can supply keys and code them to your vehicle. This is for security. On the other hand you could ask any of the vehicle thieves who use scanners and seem able to steal a vehicle in under 20 seconds.
