For anyone that’s done resonator deletes, modified to quad exhaust tips, or both: has anyone thus far had an issue with the mod or had any warranty claim denied due to the delete or change to quad tips?

I understand sometimes it depends on the dealer and service advisor. My service manager advised that for resonators, anything after the first cut is voided. He said cutting and welding new tips void the entirety of the exhaust warranty.

Wanted some more insight or thoughts. TIA

The exhaust are just pipes. What warranty claim can you have with the exhaust. Never heard of one. I have the resonator delete and have not regret it. Remember the dealer will have to prove the modification you did caused the malfunction on your car. Cutting you tip and resonator won’t cause anything.

I suppose the catalytic converters, muffler, or exhaust flaps. Thank you for the insight

If my dealer told me or implied the resonator delete voids warranty I'd tell them to suck it. It's really a dealer speaking out of lack of experience if they even try to blame such a modification on a failure elsewhere to void warranty. You should be good.

I am pretty sure the consensus is deleting them both. I've heard deleting one does not do much if anything at all. Those do one usually go back to do the second.

It'd prob be better to take both out not just for sound but to keep it all one piece in case you ever want to put them back on.

I asked my service advisor this question a few days ago they said only mod that will possibly void warranty is a tune that mods the computer.

Any other mod they have to seek evidence that the mod was the reason for a failure.

Exbaust should be the least mod worry. I asked about exbaust, downpipe, etc
That’s my dealer tho. I would deff ask your local bmw dealer because they can say something different
