COBB not working after DME update
Hi guys,
I just got my car back from the dealership. The oil sensor was not measuring the oil properly. Dealer flashed the DME. Everything seems fine but after 10 KM, check engine light went up. My guess is that the DME update removed the COBB flash. Therefore I tried to flash it again. Plugged the AP on the OBD2 port but I waited 15-20 min for it to recognize the ECU. Nothing happens. I had to rush to work. So my question is : Can it be that the dealer update the DME and now the COBB cannot communicate with it anymore? Great help will be appreciated.

yes unfortunately because I thought it was the sensor that needed to be changed.

I would contact Cobb. Their support is outstanding. They will probably have to create a beta firmware update for your new DME version.

Thanks man! I already opened a support ticket with COBB. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Update your firmware on the cobb. Then it should recognize the new software in the dme.

I would open your AP Manager and go into the settings to allow Beta Firmware Updates. Then download the beta version out there - I have been running a beta version for a few months now and works fine.

It sounds like your accessport is in the married mode since you did not uninstall it from the car before you brought it to the dealer. The dealer overwrote the tune with their update. You will need to have COBB unmarry the AP before you will be able to install any other tune on your car now.

That's fine. Cobb will have you dump your DME to the access port and upload it to their website. Then they'll release a beta firmware for you. I have done this before and they had the new firmware out by the next day.

You need to send the accessport back to Cobb so they can unmarry it from your old dme version, it's like 30 bucks I think, happened to me 2 months ago smh

Always better to remove the tune before taking it to the dealer. Many dealers will automatically update your DME if a new DME version is available. Cobb will take care of you though.

I just got some news from COBB support John. He told me that the dealer overwrote the COBB tune. Therefore it will be a simple fix by sending the AP back to them in Texas and they will unmarry the car. Cost will be 40 USD + shipping of course Great customer service indeed

OP the dealer flashed your DME because they could not read your ECU. This is common if you did not uninstall COBB before your maintenance visit and the dealer performed a diagnostic check...
No biggie do what the above thread says and you will be all right. |
