Replacement rotors
So, my initial rotors start to develop quite a lip and probably will need to be replaced anytime soon.
While looking for OE specs rotors, the following brands have emerged in my search;
Which of these brands would you buy and why? Both Bosch and Zimmermann seem very economical, but I'm a firm rider. The brakes must be reliable and perform equally or better than OEM. Last edited by Mikej0h; 07-26-2022 at 02:29 PM.. |

From the list I would stick either with Zimmermann (first preference) or Brembo. There is ATE as well, but the pads (in case you are changing both rotors and pads) are hard which means they last long, but they do not have such a "bite".

As this thread was stale for some time, I went ahead with a whole kit of Zimmermann's, but haven't had the time to install these yet.
When I did, I'll post my experience with these rotors and pads! Thanks for confirming my purchase though, glad to have see that I made the right choice |

Both Bosch & Brembo are OEM suppliers. Quality are OEM.
Zimmermann has mixed reputation in both the BMW and the VAG communities, personally I never had problems on the cars I've been driving with Zimmermann. Including cars that was used on track. cheers. Chris Quote:

Anyone have the part numbers for replacement rotors? I have the M Sport package but I don't have the blue brakes so I'm not completely sure what rotors I have. Front and rear rotors have both warped so I don't want to replace with BMW OEM, but I need to know the sizes.

Gents, I will have to replace complete brakes on my 2018 G31 540ix. My existing brakes (ATE, already a replacement ) developed vibrations when applied and their performance is far from satisfactory. The dealer says these cars MUST have OEM rotors/pads otherwise the same will happen. This is not my experience from other cars, hence my questions:
what aftermarket brands perform well on G30/G31? Is Bosch/Zimmermann/Brembo OK even after a year of use? I do not intend to use the car on a track, road use only. Any advice is appreciated. Thx |

What were the problems you came across? I got 'custom' rs slotted rotors from Brakenetic for my 850 but have yet to install them. They weren't pricey so I'm assuming Chinese made but not sure.

My slotted Brakenetic rotors were actually “made in Germany”. Was told that their rotors could be sourced either from Germany or Brazil.
