Different markets... Where I live an $1100/month mortgage payment wouldn't get you a house. Or something very tiny with no garage. Unfortunately things cost a lot more up here in urban centers so saying he got hosed and he could have been in a 6 or 7 series is not true.

A $312 lease gets you a Civic EX sedan if you get a decent discount here But a lot of people make 100k+ around there parts so no one seems to care that stuff costs so much.
