My (Australian) dealer sent me an update yesterday. Mostly confirming what we already know but I'll share anyway.
"M3/m4 Seats standard, s55 with 302kw’s just detuned from the m3/4. Adaptive suspension and steering with individual set up, same as the m3/m4. Redesigned front end to help with cooling. And replaces the m2 completely. M2 CS to follow in Q4. Price rise for Comp. expected to be around $5000 only" It's worth mentioning that many "standard" features on Aus. delivered cars are options in the US. And if that $5000 price bump is correct its a hell of a deal considering what you get. M2 LCI is about $100000au |

Although, I don't believe adaptive suspension has been seen on any of the VIN numbers so far. |

M2 Competition, news from the dealer
Hello,
I'm back from my dealer (Belgium), he was yesterday in Munich and confirmed the following: - M2 competition to replace M2 - Engine S55 with 410HP and 585Nm - Sport seats available, similar to M3/M4 but without hole in it - Price is 4-5.000€ more than a M2 - Order in June for a July production (MY2019) - Wheel similar to M3/M4 M Competition pack, but 19' - Sunset or Sakhir orange available + light metallic grey, but no more mineralgrau - Choice of blue or orange seat stitching Hope that help! |

Confirmation of what was rumored here too. Confirmation of what was rumored here too: S55 engine with 410hp (302kW) output: that information features in the pre-series M2 Competition VINs (see here). But the 585Nm/431.5lb-ft torque figure is new. And it's a lot: it's more torque than the M3/M4 (550 Nm/406lb-ft), just about 15Nm shy of the 600Nm/443lb-ft of the M4 GTS. Current M2 got 500Nm/369lb-ft (465Nm + 35Nm overboost). Confirmation of what was rumored here too:
All sorts of pricing speculation here. All depends on what BMW will offer as base features for different markets. Confirmation of what was rumored here too. Confirmation of what was rumored here too:

Also interesting that an "M2 CS" allegedly scheduled for Q4 2018 is mentioned. Not seen/heard that confirmed.

No 666M option for the M2 nor the M5 even though they have been used in testing.
They remain Exclusively for the M3/M4 at the current time with the clock now ticking for the M3. M5 get 5-Spoke blades for its Competition Packet option.

The 5 double spoke wheels in the picture you posted look very much like F10 M5 wheels, either the regular 20" model or the 19" model that is often seen wearing winter tires. The regular/non-Competition F90 M5 has moved away from this 5 double spoke design that's become very common on recent M models, in favor of a little more multi-spoke (7) design yet still retaining key design charecteristics of regular/non-Competition wheels (double spoke, bi-color, recessed centers). I'd be very surprised if the 'special' F90 M5 i.e. the Competition reverts to this old F10 design type. I'd rather bet it will introduce a wheel design that is all-new while still reminiscent of the other already existing Competition wheels. So not exactly the 666M but something similar, which would provide an immediate sense of visual identity to the growing Competition range of models. Some older F90 spyshots precisely show such a type of wheel design: These definitely aren't the 666M. If we look closely, we can notice that the tips of each 'double spoke' are further apart when they meet the outer rim as they are on the 666M: Likewise, the 2002 Hommage Concept showcased quite a similar type of racy multi-spoke design, which might well translate into something close on the M2 Competition: Ultimately all M Competition models would thus be identifiable by their similar wheel design (10 thin crossed double spokes, single color), just like all regular M models would be identifiable by their own wheel design type (5-7 double spokes, bi-color), which would make perfect sense. So might be similar or identical to the 2002 Hommage Concept as expected. Well there is still a sense of familiarity with the M3/M4 Competition and likely the M5 Competition, in that all Competition wheels are a somewhat crossed, multi(10)-double-spoke, mono-color design, as opposed to parallel/non-crossed, double spoke, black/silver for the regular M models, in order to provide a sense of identity to both the regular M range and the M Competition range, which was my point.

I don’t have any info on the wheels, but I would just like to point out that 788M is an old wheel available on E46. It’s sort of 1M like, but busier. Does that give us a hint as to the style of this new wheel?
