Boost cut due to MAF sensor?

Hi,
I have been in seek of a problem in my G30 530i xdrive about a boost/torque fluctuation, the problem occurs split a second especially driving uphill.
What can be the reason for this? I feel the torque is fluctuating at its peak point while I am keeping the throttle constant and also see it in the sport screen of torque gauge, but I could not find the reason. The car is accelerating gradually by cut-go-cut-go…I just replaced xfer case fluid but it seems it had no effect.
I would be glad to hear your comments. Some say MAF sensor, can it be?

Does MAF sensor need periodic cleaning? Any comments?

I know when doing filters on my M550i, I was warned about the filter oil coming from ECS or K&N (not sure what one), I dried the filters overnight in paper towels to avoid letting the sensitive MAF sensor get ANY oil on it. Could be issue that they are so sensitive?

Maybe, I heard similar issues, MAF can get easily contaminated while trying to clean it. But how does a dirty MAF sensor affect the drive, I mean does it shake the car, decrease in power…?

Pretty sure if I remember it effected a lot of what you saying from engine getting mixed bad signals of air going into engine. I’d google it. I’m remembering stuff from what I was told so I could be totally incorrect.

Thanks for your comments AddyDaddy. I’ve just read very very similar issues today and many of them solved the issue by replacing the VANOS actuators. A few say O2 sensors were to blame.
I will first have replaced the VANOS actuators, hope it will solve. If not then O2 sensors.
