WiFi Hot Spot-is it worth the fee?

Free WiFi with AT&T running out so I was wondering if it was something I needed.I have Hot Spot on my Apple and I do not have any children. I do travel across the nation vacationing using Nav maps and WAZE.

I had it on my 540 for awhile and while it was convenient when the kids were in the car, I didn't feel it was worth it when they could just connect via the hotspot. If it's just you IMO I don't see any value in subscribing.
