glass cleaning
What is the best way to clean the glass on the car?
I have found many products just leave a haze on the glass. What I have found to work better than any glass cleaning product out there is dish detergent and water. Take a spray bottle, put just a little dishwashing detergent in it and fill the rest with water. After spraying on glass and wiping it off use clean water to wash any leftover detergent off. This is the only thing I've found that leaves the glass looking crystal clear like the day I bought it. I also noticed that sometimes when you use a detailing spray on the car if it gets on the glass it's almost impossible to clean off and most glass cleaners just smear it around. Dishwashing detergent is the only thing I've found that cleans it off. Hope that helps anyone stuck with a dirty windshield.

This stuff is supposed to be unreal. http://www.dftowel.com/orderGS.html
My buddy went to a Zaino detail shop and they used different glass cleaners on different sections of glass and the difference was noticeable. |

Same question, different angle. What about for cleaning windows that are tinted (inside cleaning of course). I have FormulaOne Pinnacle tint and the tint guy said to be careful and to esp. avoid ammonia based cleaners.
Do the same recommendations above still apply? Is the Stoner's Invisible Glass good? Also, I saw these Stoner "wipes" or something like that for a fast clean, Armor All had some too. Any body tried those? Thanks in advance.

Also try Lusso Glass Polish. I just bought some and it works great! You are suposed to dilute it, therefore you get (3) 16oz bottles out of one 8oz bottle. Its $10 so it comes out to $3.34 per 16oz bottle. Not a bad deal

Tried a Stoners sample kit with 8 or so bags of wipes. Scrubbed my glass inside and out, carefully refolding the towelettes in between wipes to keep it clean. Result - terrible. Looked ok in some lighting conditions but with any night time glare like lighting all my windows were full of residue and streaking. I am surprised that so many of you guys love this stuff and that I had such terrible results. Suggestions?

I've never tried the Stoner wipes but as mentioned above the Stoner spray is excellent.
I typically use 2 towels to clean my windows. 1st towel for the 1st pass to get most of the dirt/crap off my windows. 2nd towel for the 2nd pass to clean any streaks/marks that may be left over from the 1st pass. I use a lint-free cotton towel, microfiber tends to leave some lint. Also, I've heard newspaper works great. Recently, Ive noticed some water spots on my windows which do not come off with the Stoner glass spray. Does anyone have any experience removing water spots from windows? Should I purchase CG Water Spot Remover for this?

I have Zaino glass polish for the really baked-on stuff. It takes off waterspots that come when you let the car dry in full sun.

Wipes generally suck anyway. I think the spray is excellent. I have cleaned my windshield inside and out after removing the initial purchase stickers with ease and seen no streaks or dirt from any light angle.

I've used mostly any auto-window cleaning spray with a clean microfiber towel. I buy the 3-color packs so I allways keep the yellow towel for glass only so it don't get mixed up with any waxes or leather cleaner.
After a while I got a big collection so I use one yellow to clean off the glass after spraying the window-cleaner and another to go over it again dry. I spray the solvent, wipe it all off, fold to a dry side, wipe again and then after about 5-10 seconds, there is allways some residue so then I go over it again with a dry microfiber towel to clean any light residue off and usually the glass is very clean and very clear, unless I miss a spot. |

Since I was critical of Stoners I wanted to follow up. I bought an actual spray bottle and ditched the wipes. The stuff works great. Use a clean lint free towel and Stoners is fantastic. I can't believe they sell those wipes, even as samples, they really suck.
