Hi Guys.

Just been looking at coding options for my 2017 G31.

However in the process I noticed my maps are showing Eu roadmap 2017-2 but under automatic update it shows

"GB, IE 2020-3".



Do I have automatic updates or an old map. I'm not sure and nothing is showing on my connecteddrive account.

Yes you do. The 2020-3 update for GB is downloaded over the air and updating the base 2017 map.

In Europe I believe you can login to your connected drive account and download the entire base map and update it using a 64GB or larger USB thumb drive. This is optional and most people just stick with the over the air update.

I'm guessing that the 2020-3 map update was your last ota before the option expired after 3 years.
On a 2017, you will be able to renew your usb or ota map updates ( local maps only; for us GB and IE) subscription to get the whole Europe database of maps. I have recently done this and saved a lot by getting a package which included rtti which I use a lot plus some other stuff I rarely use. Just those two offered a saving.

You do this through the connected drive portal on the web.

Hi Guys, that makes sense.

Just checked on the connected online, I can purchase the connected package for £100 which gives access to the usb map update or the £160 premium package that allows OTA update. Tbh, for the sake of £70 i'll stick to the usb)

That's what I did. Mainly because I have never had a ota update! Maybe usb maps come out first and I enable them before they wend their way to ota

That's the best way. Faster and more efficient way for maps.

And believe the ota updates are small updates rather than the whole database

I've updated my 2017 model every quarter since new and have only had 2 notifications for an ota update
