Forgot to add, car has the iconic adaptive LED headlight option and has been tinted 35% all around with LLumar Ceramic Tint in an attempt to protect the interior from UV rays.

Have you tried CARMAX or CARVANA just for the hell of it ?
Some are getting crazy good prices from them and it also gives you an idea of how your pricing is. Right now used cars are going for insane prices. I just read an article yesterday where some have risen 50% from Jan 2021 to Jan 2022.

I did but I thought I would try here. Carmax gave me a fair offer and Carvana gave me an even better offer. I would like to offer my car to an enthusiast that would appreciate the rare options and the second set of wheels/tires in addition to the transferable maintenance package that is valid at any authorized BMW Dealer in North America.

Not a bad price. I think you could easily get this or damn close to it Carmax or Carvana with a little haggling. Sometimes the transaction is a lot easier with them than dealing with a private sale, especially if murphy's law kicks in the minute you hand it over and it needs work if the CPO is up, is it?

I have had offers from buyers out of state for $39,500. Private party in Good condition has my car going for $42K-$46K. Dealerships in the area are giving me $38,000 for it. Not sure I understand the issue with selling private party? One time I bought a 3 series from a private seller and it had a turbo leak and the previous owner agreed to go 50/50 on the repair bill.

This car has been meticulously maintained and the shop foreman at BMW of Fairfax said car is in excellent condition. If, God Forbid something were to happen after the sale. I am not sure what recourse the second buyer has. Based on my posts with the VIN #, License Plate, and free transferable maintenance package, I am not sure what a future buyer has to worry about. I am not worried, if I do not get my number I can just keep the car with the same engine in the new Toyota Supra and enjoy the premium features it has.

Trade, sale to dealer, Carmax etc. is a clean break. Private sales can result in agita. Depends on the buyer and seller.

I've never sold a car to either carmax or carvana, but reading up on it seems like a stressless transaction AND you know the funds are 100% legit.
You can go with whatever you want, but I've run into headaches doing a private sale, with every excuse in the book. It can be very frustrating.

If Carmax/Carvana are within your "zone" of what you want, i'd go with them......just to avoid the stress.

Anyway, best of luck with sale. Very nice car.

I've never sold to CarMax, but I've gone through the process trying to sell my company van to them. They came up $4,000 short of the private sale I ended up going with. But this was 3 years ago and it was a utility van sold to another utility company, so it wasn't scrutinized. It ran well and transported stuff.

I have sold two BMWs privately. I sold an E32 on eBay to someone in Tennessee. The car was perfect but they complained. Even though I felt I described it perfectly and gave the new first time BMW owner an education on BMW's, he said he had tranny issues the minute it came off the truck. Made me feel like a creep. I asked him to send me the bill but I never heard back.

Sold an E38 locally and the first week he had it, the ignition switch went. If you ever had a bad ignition switch you know the car does all kinds of crazy electrical things. So the guy was freaking out. I paid the dealer to fix it.

No more. Trades are easier. You also get to deduct the trade value from the sales tax basis on the new one.

Just completed the brake fluid flush at BMW of Fairfax and mileage is updated to 46,500. Asking price has been reduced to $37,500.

Car is at 49,000 and will have rear brake pads/rotors ($900 maintenance job) replaced for the new owner. Asking Price has been reduced to $36,000. Recently detailed and ready for the next enthusiast!

Update Jan 2023: Car is still for sale: mileage updated to roughly 52,000 miles! I work from home, so car gets taken out on weekends and then sits in the garage. Price has been lowered to $34,000.

Update March 2023: Car is babied and stays inside the garage on weekdays and out for errands on Weekends. We are at roughly 53,000 miles. Rear Control Arm was replaced and CV joint boot was leaking so I replaced that promptly as well. The car will come with 19 inch stock M Sport wheels as the 18 inch wheels have been sold.
Price has come down to $32,999 still cheaper than a Camry or Accord. Hard to find soft close doors, drivers assistance professional package, and massage seats.
