Loving this thread as I have just tracked my M2 for the first time and in the same boat as you in terms of planned changes.

I was stunned at the amount of outside wear on the front tires after my 3 sessions (which were in VERY hot conditions). This winter I think I'll install the Ohlins and camber plates too so would love to hear your feedback once you get them in.

My stock pads held up surprisingly well on track (I think the Motec fluid upgrade I did really helped) and given I only have one track day left before the CO winter, I was going to run them again rather than switching out for PFC's or Pagid's and then having to switch back again. Will just have to back off a bit towards the third session.

I also daily my car and will only do 4-5 track sessions a season, so the tire choice is a tough one as I don't plan to have a separate track wheel set up. I am thinking PS4's as I heard RE71's are horrible in wet/damp and occasionally during the winter I might need to head out in less than ideal conditions (although it won't be driven in all out snow..).

What size did you end up going with? I had read that having a square setup on the M2 causes havoc with the TMS... guess I read wrong? A lot of folk on this thread seem to be running square 18 setups, I guess mostly for better wear and rotatability (if that's even a word . That and I hear 18 square understeers less.

I'm at -2.75 and can only offer a guess of about 7mm.

With stock suspension and no camber (yet), can I run 18x9.5 ET33 square with 265/35 tires? Would I need a front spacer?

I've read tons of threads on here-- amazing resource-- and the Apex fitment guide only shows 255/35 direct fit. Are they being conservative?

Thanks!!

One of the local guys I compete against runs square 9.5x18et35 w/ 265/35-18 on stock suspension, so I’m guessing you should be OK.

Yeah dcmac I'm glad so many pros are willing to give advice!

I ended up getting two sets of tires, on the stock 19" I replaced the worn out MPSS with Conti Extreme Contact Sport, which I upsized to 255/35 R19 and 275/35 R19.

And on the EC-7's I put RE71R 255/35R18 and 275/35R18. I can't give you any feedback on the RE's because they are waiting at a tireshop in Seattle for me. I'll be picking them up on my way to the next track day at the end of August.

For my dailies I chose the Conti ECS because of the extremely good wet weather handling. One of the local car clubs hosts a winter autocross tournament from Oct - Apr and I know the ECS equipped cars did extremely well last winter season.

Like you I'm not planning on driving my car in the snow, that's what my E30 with winter tires is for.
