Good evening guys, my 2021 M550I is making whining (supercharger ish??) noise when going on to the throttle.

Recently heard this noise while I was driving with windows down. Can't hear with windows up. I can tell the noise is louder when I give it a gas. Full throttle=very noticeable, half throttle=can barly hear it but its there, idle=none.

Any idea what this could be? From what I saw its the ZF 8 speed, xdrive making the noise but wish to confirm. I do not see any odd symtoms other than this whining noise and it starts to bother me.

Any inputs are appreciated.. Thanks!!!

Mine has always done this from day 1. Hasn't become louder or changed in anyway over 10k miles.

Does it make the whine while revving in Park (not moving)? If no whine, then its likely coming from the transmission.

More than likely just the turbos doing their thing

I returned my F32 and got my money back because of the whining. They even replaced the transmission because they found out that something was wrong with the torque converter. I waited for two weeks and it was still the same… Good luck!
