530e ipeformance tune?

Is there currently a tune out there made for the 530e iPerformance? Any dinan or BMS tunes compatible?

Edit: found this in ECS’ website which says it’s compatible https://www.ecstuning.com/b-dinan-pa...d440-0012~din/

However it doesn’t list the 530e on Dinan’s own website

I called ECS and they said it was an oversight. They just updated their site to say it is NOT compatible with 530e since Dinan has not tested it on a hybrid yet

Ah ok good to know. I'm hopeful there will be a Dinan tested module eventually. Would be nice to have the best if both works to get that machine up to 340-350 lbs. ft of torque

Anybody find out if there is a compatible 530e tune yet? Since the 530i and 530e engines are the same with the only difference being the 530e is detuned would it be right to think the engine output will go up significantly more on the 530e since it starts at a lower hp rating 180hp vs 248hp?

Confirmed with Terry (yesterday) at BMS that both the JB+ and JB4 B48 tunes ARE COMPATIBLE with the 530e! Excited to get my hands on one and try it out!

They're saying 25-30 WHP gains...

I've yet to see any proof of this that there would be no errors....or dynos for that matter...any luck?

Sorry for the double post but another forum member is running the JB+ with no issues. I've purchased one to try out -- figured it couldn't hurt the car that badly and is reversible. Will post my findings.

Update:

Installed JB+. No issues. Just follow the directions and it's a 10 min job including waiting the 5-7 min for the ECU to go to sleep.

I turned on my sport display yesterday and floored it and it pegged out at 240hp and 300lb/ft torque

Today, my sport display showed 300hp and approx the same torque. Easiest way to check this is for someone with a stock 530e to turn on their sport display and floor it and see if it'll peg to 240/300 like mine was doing pre tune.

At any rate, I'm very satisfied and can feel a difference!

Hi! This is really fantastic to see!

As a newbie to this can you please
Elaborate on where to purchase this JB+ Tune, how much, what is involved to install and how much of a difference you feel?

Thanks!

I've got a 520i on order and that is running the same engine as the 530e. Which is as others have said the same engine that is in the 530i but just detuned.

Going to order a JB+ for mine as soon as it arrives.

I have a tuning box on my 330e, which showed 290bhp on the Dyno, and has been great to use. The drivetrain is much the same so I'm sure it will be available for the 530e.

I find it most useful to maintain performance when the batteries are dead, and especially at higher speeds.

Installation of JB+ B48 for 2018 530e (USA)

That's great to hear this works on a BMW 530e, I have a 2018 BMW 530e. Not sure what the installation is like. Can you help? I have attached some photos of what it looks like under the hood, and I'm wondering if it's the TMAP connector I am holding? Newbie here!!

JB+ Post Installation experience.

Ok guys - I just installed the JB+ on my 2018 530e this evening. I was a bit nervous but I saw that this will go only in one of the map connectors and was also worried if I fitted it losely but it came out to be a snug fit. Also, I don't think the engine would have fired if I had connected it losely so all is good. I also maxed out the psi level all the way clockwise to the right (5 o-clock).

So then I took her for a spin up and down the hills, about 10-12 Miles round trip, and quite frankly, didn't notice much of a difference. I had gauged with the sport displays before the JB+ and it had tapped out at 240/300 and I had similar results after the JB+, maybe around 250/310. I drive efficiently most of the time so flooring the gas l is not what I do usually but I did most often in my "test drive" post JB+ installation, but it didn't go past 245-250ish.

Is there a break in and learning period for the JB+? Am I going to feel the difference on the freeway when I pass other cars? Tell me more ...

If you pop open the JB+ box itself, there is a small dial to turn up the PSI

Just ordered and waiting for my 530e,

In the UK where can you order the tune from? What is the most reputable place to buy it from?

Cheers
