Bimmercode for 2021 M550 ASS
Hi. I am getting an error when trying to code the ASS memory on a 2021 M550. The app/adapter are working for other functions. Has anyone had this issue? Thanks!

You can't code it with the engine on (it codes the DME module). Hope this helps. |

A follow up observation... After I coded the ASS memory I have had intermittent trouble with the roof function switches (lights and sunroof switch) not working. They flash when they are not working properly. I used the bimmercode app to go back to the update but that has not helped.
I did the OTA update that was available today, will monitor to see if that makes a difference. Of course this could also be a coincidence! |

If you have Esys, you could try VO coding the module and getting it back to stock, but I think it's just a coincidence. I don't think the DME module controls any of the switches that are now having an issue...
I assume ASS got coded properly? If so, Bimmercode did change the correct parameters and it didn't have anything to do with the switches. Either way, I was planning on doing it, but now since you're having those issues I might hold off on doing any modifications to that module... keep us updated. |

Yes the ASS memory did code properly.
I did forget to mention in my post- right after I coded the ASS memory (this was the only parameter I changed) and the system re-booted, the center roof lights were flashing. I believe it is related. It continues today, sometimes time those roof lights/sunroof work and sometimes not. No pattern to it. I don't think the OTA update helped. I have a service appointment on 12/15. |

BMW sunroofs have always required a reset when power is disconnected (car battery) or if there are issues...a reset usually fixes this. In the past you needed to turn the ignition on (G-chassis may require 3 presses...so check owners manual)...then press & hold up on the sunroof switch button until the roof panels went through a procedure that took approx 20-30 seconds...but again, check you owners manual (or the iDrive manual) for the sunroof reset procedure.
