Adblue
Hi all,
I'm new to G30 ownership, having traded by F10 against a 2018 520d two months ago. I've got 2.5k km range left in my Adblue and want to top it up later. I assume all Adblue is the same? Is there any issue using non BMW brand in a car still under warranty? My local motor factors sell it in 20L containers so I was just going to buy one of those. Thanks, Dave |

I found, at least here in Denmark, that the cheapest and easiest way to fill up the AdBlue tank is at the gas stations, where lorrys/LKW/trucks fill up. There is often a designated "pistol" for AdBlue. You get the correct amount (instead of buying a 10L container, but the car only takes 9L...) and the price directly from the tap is less than half of what it costs in containers.
More and more fuel stations over here sells AdBlue this way. But to answer your question; yes, AdBlue is AdBlue. Don´t buy to large containers though; the car doesn´t use much, and it has an expiry date in the containers.

I also have the same car. AdBlue are more or less all the same, but maybe you should still choose reputable manufacturers like BASF, etc. watch the date of manufacture, do not buy if it is older than 12 months. Maybe they are the freshest at gas stations after all. I would recommend you an adblue additive that keeps the system and nozzle clean: Tunap microflex® 986 active add-on for Adblue https://media.tunap.com/stmedia/tuna...etWithLogo.pdf Last edited by lukica.stipetic; 12-31-2020 at 06:11 AM.. |

I only bought adblue from BMW, it's about 20 euros per 10 L container. Usually my car eats around 1L per 1000 km.
I personally wouldn't buy a different brand of adblue. |
