My JB4 best was 11.18 with 0-60 at 3.16. This is without the XHP. I went to BM3 so I could eventually get a custom tune. Not sure who the best tuner is for the N63T3 though?
Best I've ever done with BM3 93 Stage 1 and xHP is a 0-60 of 3.26. I've said on other posts that I don't think BM3 and xHP are optimized to work well together, so I second the vote for a custom tune. Only trouble is, I'm not aware of any custom tuners who specialize in the N63T3 engine.

Is it a matter of fiddling with xHP? I tried you xHP launch settings but it pushed through the brake and messed the launch. I can with reasonable safety test 0-60km/h so might start playing with the settings to see if I can improve. Mind you I will be burning my 100 launches up.

My 0-100 of 3.46 with no xHP customization is close to your 0-60mph times.

That all said I think a custom 93/98 tune for a daily tune is the best option for now. My local shop has never done one, but plenty of M5s, other BMWs, VW etc. and I trust them. As long as the torque doesn’t spike up too low in the rev range and we have margins in case of bad fuel there should be scope for more power/torque and get it to at least JB4 level and hitting high 10s.

Car is due for its final in warranty vehicle check so will flash xHP back to stage 1 and BM3 back to stock before it goes in.

"As long as the torque doesn’t spike up too low in the rev range"

There is no avoiding that. Our twin scroll turbos are so small, they spool very fast and then you add in the V8 and your low end torque is always going to be high. This is a great combo for a stock vehicle though. But when you start tuning our V8 with the tiny twin scrolls, too much torque down low.

Personally, I think you should be fine. You're running a very conservative tune. A lot of M550s out there are running stage 2 tunes with ethanol blends pushing over 20 psi and I've yet to hear of any bent rods yet. (It helps we have F90 rods).

Our engine is not very popular, so you're not going to find any tuners specializing in it. All of the top tuners can custom tune for you, it's just a bit harder for them as they don't push out 10 to 20 of them a day like they do with M cars.

Most tuners can tune an M car blind, our car they're going to have to put a little bit more work into it. Also M cars have additional ram channels for tuning from Bm3 that were never developed for our cars.

What does that effect, or impact by not having as many ram channels?

It's so strange, I set both sliders to +40% on custom launch control, mash the brake, peg the throttle, see "Launch Control Active," release the brake, and the wheels don't spin. Others doing the same thing get no traction at all. I wish I had an explanation but I just don't.

Think of the ram channels as parameters. To dial in the tune, the more parameters at your fingertips, the better.

how long are you holding down the traction control off button for? You have to hold it down for more than 10 seconds to get it completely off.

Don't a lot of the custom tunes require re-gapping the plugs? I wonder if that would throw a code when you de-tune and take it back to stock to go in for warrenty checks?

You mentioned adding RAM channels back a few pages in this thread? Or did I misunderstand?

I’ve only ever pressed it once and it shows dynamic traction on the dash. I thought the long press turned off DSC?

Car is out of warranty at the end of this month so not an issue.

If you want to do a full launch control you need to long press it to turn everything off.

Interesting. I can get launch control to show with a short press and I’m pretty sure that’s what the manual says. I will try it.

@choppedliver you are correct. LC doesn't operate on the G30 with TC off.
