BMW 540ix 2018 Remus Catback

Hi.

Recently got the Remus Catback option for my 2018 G31 540ix, and its pretty great. Great option for everyone not wanting the M-performance exhaust, or looking for an aftermarket exhaust still using the factory exhaust valves.

Looks great, the fitment is amazing and the sound is just what I was looking for. Silent and comfortable without any drone in comfort mode, but still has a little more sound when you pin the throttle down.

Sport plus on the other hand brings the car to life, its loud without being "too much" - lots of pops and bangs when revving or downshifting 👏

Excuse the dirty car, winter is here to stay in Norway.

I wonder how much of a difference it is versus a resonator delete?

Is this a resonated version? I didnt think there was a resonated version for the B58. I have just the axle back on mine with the OEM mid pipe and a vrsf sports cat, it wold be nice if i could get the remus resonated midpipe added

Hi everyone! Haven't really heard alot of different exhaust setups for the 540i in real life, so it's hard for me to compare or say anything about the differences. Is that using the stock bumper?

I've seen many who need to replace the bumper with larger exhaust cutouts to fit the quad tips.

The exhaust tips are 2 x 4" each side, so had to change to the 550i diffusor ☺️

Can't wait to see/hear the setup.

My main hold back on exhaust upgrade is the potential for drone. I think I'm overly sensitive about extra noise while driving.

Looks great. Does the Remus make use of the valve solenoid from the OEM system (almost looks like it from your pics)? Always struck me as strange that the MPE didn't use the valve at all and keep the system bi-modal.

Im quite impressed when it comes to how silent the exhaust is in comfort mode, all the pops and crackles are gone and there's zero drone in my opinion. You still have some sound when accelerating in comfort, especially uphill - but there's no drone or vibrations. I had a Audi A6 3.0 TFSI before the G31 with a homemade exhaust setup, and it had some drone with the valves closed which I didn't appreciate.

My girlfriend doesn't like the car in sport plus because it's loud and she thinks it's embarassing (&#128514

, but she was quite happy when she noticed how quiet it was in comfort, almost stock like and no drone 👍

You remove three bolts and take the whole "solenoid/valve motor" off, and it's bolt on to the Remus muffler. The valves are operated like from the factory changing the drive modes inside the car ☺️

which size are the muffler covers. Yours seem to fit great and looks nice...?

i got an remus exhaust too with 101mm outside covers (which should same as the remus ones) but the fit is miserable (m-diffusor not fit, m5 look miserabel)

The muffler´s aren't centered either...

I can measure in the morning if you want me to! My car has the factory M-sport package, and the m-sport 540i diffusor does not fit the Remus muffler with 2 x 4"/102mm exhaust tips - had to get the OEM 550i diffusor with part number 51 12 8 067 763 👍

Ok, I thought that the standard m-diffusor fit. With the M5 look i had to work on the diffusor inlets side that the muffler fit (only visible under the car).

What bothers me is that he is not centered... on the Left side it looks good from the distances but right side terrible... Maybe i got an sunday exhaust^^

Hm, thats odd 🤷🏻&zwj;♂️ I had to adjust the muffler a little before tightening the clamp to get all 4 outlets centered in the diffusor. But if one side was out of the center the other would be as well - and with everything centered both sides fit perfect.

I think i try smaller ones, that should solve this Problem with the M5-look Diffusor (also 89mm is the next smaller size). With smaller ones and this Diffusor i can adjust more

Too funny but sounds great __________________ 2012 bmw 335i sedan VRSF catless DP VRSF 5? HD IC Stock intake(had open before and was sick of noise) BMS CP 550i 351m rims with 275/245 set up. No tune as of yet.
