As we all have been patiently anticipating the trans tune through XHP. I was check the website today and noticed it had the option for the 523hp setup in the 20s. I went forward and figured it wouldn’t give me a map option. Well…. It did.

I could be posting this and everyone is already aware- if so my apologies. Can anyone confirm? I’m gonna pull the trigger if not!

OMG I thought it was an April Fool but there it is! Only concern is that it incorrectly calls the engine the N63B44T4 rather than the T3. I plan to pull the trigger on this once I learn about how to configure this thing and hear how it works for others.

Just to make sure- I plugged in my Enet to confirm my vehicle. Went RIGHT to the correct tune package! This is huge! I’m like a kid at Christmas lol. No more torque limiting!

I will tune in a couple of hours and provide feedback. Gotta run my son to get a haircut- then the all important round of whacking at a little white ball. I’ll get some videos and provide some thoughts. If it works 🤣

Please provide a detailed account of how it goes. I've heard these things are tricky to tune so any advice would be appreciated.

Well…. Bought it and went to flash. It won’t allow you to use an Enet cord. Must use Wifi adapter. So now I’m buying one of those. What a BUMMER!

Yes I knew it was coming. I didn't want to say anything on the forum in case I was misled. I reached out to xhp 2 weeks ago, but I used a different email address this time so they knew it wasn't the same guy harassing them!

They said 2 weeks and here it is!

Yeah I've been following all the xhp on the different fourms and everybody has the same gripe, that you have to flash with a Wi-Fi adapter, after that you can use your e-net cord.

We're kind of on our own here. There's all types of settings and configurations/adaptations that you can do. There's an XHp Facebook page dedicated to users cross referencing the best settings. Unfortunately we can't copy those settings because we have different drivetrains than they have.

What a disappointment! That seems completely arbitrary and introduces an unnecessary cost and delay to those of us without a wi-fi adapter.

I've read many posts by people flashing xhp with the same argument of why WI-Fi adapter. I've yet to read an answer that explains clearly why it has to be done, initially, off a Wi-Fi adapter!

You would think it'd be the other way around, initial flash has to be with Enet cable and then after that you can Wi-Fi it?

Well I swallowed hard and just ordered a Thor adapter from Europe. We'll see how long it takes to get here. The xHP website says that a D-CAN adapter is required to initially unlock the transmission.

Are you not in the United States?

ECS Motorsports, Turner Motorsports, Burger Motorsports all carry the xhp blue Wi-Fi adapter for the USA. Thor is worldwide.

We are certainly going to be Guinea pigs… this is V1 I’m sure they have had testers out in the field providing feedback. I know ALL other V1’s had a considerable amount of revisions. Guess I need to also buy a draggy now… darn. Lol.

Did a little digging on some saved posts. The reason you have to flash with the Wi-Fi adapter is that it's what unlocks the TCU and you can use your enet cable in the future, but the Wi-Fi adapter is what does the unlock is my understanding.

Also xhp has flashpoints. My tuner / performance shop is a flashpoint. Hopefully I don't have to buy the Wi-Fi adapter, he could just use his, I would just have to pay for the license and maps. But we'll see!

I've not flashed the xhp yet. I'm on the fence between the map bundles or having xhp do a custom tune. I know the xhp app has sliders for you to make adjustments if you want, I just don't think I'm qualified to make any adjustments!

Also the Wi-Fi adapter is only needed for the initial flash to unlock the TCU, after that you can just use an enet cable, which is what I use for my bm3 app.

I bought the map pack…. Ordered the WiFi adapter overnight. Was supposed to arrive Monday. It just got delivered to my house. On my way to work this morning I had an injector fail. So it’ll be a bit, taking her in to BMW on Monday. BIG BOOOOOOO!!!
