Loving the new 5er. I loved my E60 and this car looks like an updated version of that. I'd lose the stripes but other than that this one is a winner.

Yeah the strips kind of remind me of the pin stripping you see on GM and Ford vehicles in Europe ik the M Performance decal sits above the door jambs on some models rather than on the side skirt like here in the States

Like the body lines in general. However, the black plastic bits/parts vibe, particularly the rear end, is too much. Maybe it’s the white color.

I'm sure they'd pull off quite easily with a hair dryer. Other than that I'd rock the hell out of that car as it sits right now. Badass.

On pics it looks FWD sedan, I cant put my finger on it but very very fat front. Wonder how it is in real life.

I think they must have to add all that commotion to the back end (the theatrically try-hard splitter with its needlessly flared corners) to compensate for the otherwise featureless and bulbous rear third. As you say, all that is only exaggerated by the white; but there's no hiding the chipmunk aesthetic as the dominate motif of this generation. Poor 5er. It's like a bodybuilder midway through their off-season bulking phase...

I wonder if BMW is going to remove the M side emblems on the i5 M60’s like they do on the iX M60’s destined for the United States. Not sure why they do that, but I added them to mine later on. That don’t even do that to the iX M60’s in Canada.

Outside line designation it’s mainly because the US market doesn’t prefer it, you can get it added in via your client advisors on some models when they submit the build in the ordering system

Definitely was not an option when ordering an iX. I’ve yet to see a single IX M60 that came with them in the US. We have multiple threads covering this topic on the iX forum.

Understood. Going back to my original ask…. I wonder if we’ll be able to order them with the i5 M60. Has anyone ordered one yet?

My dealer has 5 orders for them does not look to be an option. I’ve seen them on ICE vehicles not sure if they have been taken off completely like how rear dynamic steering as been for BEV vehicles.

We will be able to order them from the part dept. either way. It’s the measurement and placement that I would like to avoid. Those things are extremely sticky with no room to move without a heat gun and some fishing line! I probably spent over an hour measuring 3 or 4 times comparing it to stock photos from Europe.

That and in Europe it’s a no cost option sadly and takes out the hassle for them being perfect lol. Do you have an order in?

Not yet, waiting for my sales advisor to call me back with my trade-in numbers. I’m going to get absolutely clobbered on my ‘23 iX M60 with only 2,000 miles - Especially considering I purchased mine. BMW wasn’t passing the federal tax credit down to the customer on leases in January. I had a ‘19 M550 before that and I miss that vehicle greatly. I didn’t realize the i5 was coming out this year, or I might have waited.

Damn that sucks we did have notice it would come out for a few months now he should have passed that along . And that $9,900 credit must be like a punch in the gut but you probably wouldn’t have done a one year lease

Yes. A definite blow to the gut…. He did tell me the G30 was being replaced which is why I wanted to get rid of my G30 so quickly. I had it for the full four years and traded it a week before it was going to run out of warranty. He didn’t know the i5 was actually coming out this year in January.

I am also looking at several other options including the ultra-hated XM. My dealer is willing to play ball because they are not moving…
