540i MHD stage 2 tune vs 540i stage 1

Hello.
Today i raced my friend who has a 540i 2017 with VRSF catless downpipes and MHD stage 2 runing on 91oct map.
My 540i 2019 has just a stage 1 bone stock , i did 2 dyno runs:first run 434hp , second run 410hp(i dont know why it was 24hp difference) and we were neck on neck, barely any difference.
Now my question is how much hp does MHD give you on a stage 2 tune?

Because i dont know whether my stage 1 is a Goood stage , or his car is slow(maybe it has 390-400hp) and my car doesnt have the horspower i measured on dyno. I am in so much doubts about my car’s hp.

Are you running 91 Oct map too? It think when running 91 Oct fuel maps they are very limited due to poor fuel quality so the stage 2 is probably minimally higher power Hight up the rev range compared to stage 1 .

Stage 1 91 oct at 434 sounds pretty high, that's 93 Oct map numbers

In my experience with other platforms, there can be a lot of factors. You may have lost 24 HP due to heat soak. Dynos blow fans usually into the IC's to reduce that, but the car can easily lose HP on each subsequent run if the car hasn't cooled down.

I used to have the fastest Stage 3+ 2000 Audi S4 in the country mod for mod. The motor retained amazing compression even with 165k miles on it when I sold it. Other people had different tunes, different mechanics and the conditions of the motor were different. When I was Stage 1, I was beating Stage 2+ cars and just edging them out. My car was a bit of a freak, and yours may be also.

Don't worry about the HP number. Weather conditions (barometric pressure, altitude above sea level, and humidity) highly effect Turbo cars as well. Also, I used to constantly log timing detonation because not all 93 Octane is created equal (especially when running meth).

My advice is to mod the car, take care of it and enjoy it. When I drove it daily, I was easy on it 90% of the time. That is why my motor lasted. I used to race it on the weekends and took it to the 1/4 mile a few times. I had 1.7 60's, 3.25 0-60 and ran 11.7's in the quarter with a 6 speed manual. I never broke the upgraded clutch, trans or blew an upgraded turbo or motor.

I used to send my oil into Blackstone in PA to have the old oil analyzed. I ran Mobil 1 Full Syn. When I sold the car, I had every oil report at 10k intervals for the last 70k miles and they were spotless. It was worth the $30 I paid for each analysis.

Have fun and be safe.

P.j.
