Could it be BMW is using different parts due to general availability of product? I'd just clean them up and hit them with some high-temp paint. Look at 90% of the cars on the road and you'll see rust on brake parts.

Here is what mine look like after 4 and a half years. To me, having them shiny like this enhances the overall look, somewhat akin to painted calipers.

2018 BMW M550  [10.00]
If the car has been sitting on the lot for even a week or two and not driven, it is very common for the rotors to build up rust and oxidation. 5-10 times on the brakes will shine them right back up.

It's not rust on the rotors (I already said this before).

I would never start a thread complaining of rust on rotors. That's a non-issue. If you go back and reread the thread I already made that abundantly clear
