Cleaning the digital instrument cluster

Does anyone have any ideas or hints for cleaning the digital cockpit display?

I've tried water, monitor cleaner, nothing at all but they all smear or in the case of nothing, the marks don't shift.

I don't want to over rub with a micro fibre for fear of scratching the display.

Any good ideas?

You are afraid of scratching the display with a MF towel?? That has to be a first, you use quality korean microfiber to avoid scratching.

These are like magic. Wet one with water and wipe, then wipe dry with the other. These aren't MF in case you are worried. Towels last forever and does a great job on glass and wood.

Make sure the display is OFF when you clean it. They get hot quickly when powered on and that might be why you're seeing streaks.

I cleaned mine this weekend with a quality micro-fibre (MF) cloth and distilled water. Simply wet the cloth and wipe to remove residue and then use a dry section to finish the job.

There had been a bunch of smears from a previous effort using some sort of glass cleaning product and probably a non-clean rag. The distilled water and clean MF cloth did the trick.

Also, I always wash my MF cloths in the washer with regular detergent, but NO fabric softener. I think that helps.

This method is exactly what I've always done. Use the same method for TVs and computer monitors as well. Distilled water is key. I also use Tide Free detergent.

What I do is use 2 microfibers

I spray a microfiber with a good amount of invisiglass cleaner and pretty much wipe the entire gauge cluster than immediately with the dry microfiber I dry/wipe it off. I use my phone light to see if I missed any spots.

Need to be quick otherwise it dries and I suggest doing it at night or parked in garage otherwise sun will make it difficult.
