First AEB event I've encountered
Had my first AEB "incident" the other week. Driving at about 25mph along a street, parked cars on the left and a guy walks out to get into his car. He is only about 1-2 feet out in the road beyond his car and I get an aural alert, red pedestrian icon in my HUD and the car brakes heavily.
Stop near him and he looks as surprised as me! |

I've had the same... it is really abrupt/rough braking, not a pleasant ABS feel...
had it when vehicle in front stopped suddenly, and also with a pedestrian on a pavement going around a curve (should not have braked). As I recall, it does not do an absolute stop, coasts after the body block shock Adjusted my severity to Medium or Low (Or late or whatever it's called)

The only concern I have with this technology is actually not the technology but whoever is driving behind me!
If they are keeping their distance , no big deal but we all know that a vast majority of people do not and there is the risk of them banging into the back of you. |

All those instances had the vehicle hit the brakes hard with the dash indicator and sound all doing their song and dance. My first reaction besides the initial shock is to check the rear view mirror and pray that i don't get rear-ended by the vehicle behind me. |
