Outside temperature reading wrong

Hi, I think my outside temperature sensor is gonna fail. The temp. is hugely jumping around (30 °C, 35, 45, 50, 32 etc., all in like 5 minutes. Is this a commonc way of sensor failing? Btw, if I connect an diagmoatic app, also the interior twmp is wrong - it ia too low. The higher the outside temp reada, the lower the inside reads. How are those two things connected? Anyway, is this the sensor failing or something else? Thanks!

It certainly isn't. I guess the temp sensor is failing. Juat wanted a confirmation from someone who has an experience with this.

Out of interest., where is the sensor?

When I've hosed the car down I've noticed that that action has brought the temperature down quite a bit briefly so the water obviously gets near or on the sensor but no idea where it is

It's somewhere near the front passanger wheel.

Anyway, I read the codes and it's the ambient temp sensor, obviously. Will have it checked/replaced after my vacarion in Italy.

One thing to consider is that the HVAC uses that temp sensor (among others) to adjust the inside temp.

So my check engine light is on. Checked the codes, there are several modules saying that the KOMBI module is receiving bad signal from ambient temp sensore. The question is, will this prevent DPF regen? If so, when should I expect it to get blocked? I am not in my home country and will have a chance to get the temp sensor replaced in a week (about 2000 kms).
