Anyone experienced this issue? This is where I rest my elbow when I drive. I guess I have too pointy of an elbow. LOL

You may be able to hit the dealer up for that under warranty. I'm trying to figure how the heck you sit to be able to dig your elbow in that hard to dig that hole. I sit pretty low, so resting my arm that high would come with little pressure.

I have full leather dash and doors, but I can see the base rubber/plastic blend stuff doing this.

I think part of the issue is that it's not leather. It's the hard rubber-like faux leather. I have the full leather dash and doors and this is leather with the option, I don't see any signs of this, but I also don't drive with my elbow up there.

I wonder if you can buy just this replacement piece or if you need a whole door card.

Do you mean it's Dakota leather?

I read somewhere on here that you can tell if your door panels are leather by the seam placement. From that picture it looks like the leather description with a seam to connect the pieces of leather.

Or maybe you're specifically talking about that top piece. Either way, it would make great common sense for that to be a singular piece that can be replaced. And by that logic, you and I both know that's very unlikely to be the case!

You can tell if the doors are leather as part of the extended leather dash package. The leather on the top sill of an optioned car is smooth soft leather, not dimpled like the damaged pictures in this thread. Now whether the base door sill trim is Dakota or not, I am not sure. I am not a fan of Dakota and I think it barely passes as leather to begin with. I had it in my F10 and it had the comfort and texture of a football. To me, it looks like the sill is a manufactured product vs. a leather wrap. Seams can be manufactured and fake.
