G30 Service Costs in UK?

Considering picking up a G30 520D M Sport on a 3 year lease but I want to know about the servicing costs first before I make my decision.

With it being a three year lease I wouldn’t be taking the service pack and would have to pay for them as they pop up. Can anyone give me an indication as to how often services would be due (relatively low mileage, 8k a year max), and what the potential costs would be? My current F30 didn’t need an oil change until it was 18 months old and brake fluid at 2 years. So if the G30 is anything like that then I’ll be pleased.

Thanks in advance!

Got to ask ,why would you not pay for the servicing pack as it seems a no brainier. £450 I seem to recall for a 540i in the U.K.

I thought I had seen the costs somewhere on this forum (possibly the f10 one) where someone had not and the costs were pretty high.

If the costs of the individual services over 3 years came to more than the service pack then yes I’d buy it. But this is why I want to know.

My mileage is more or less the same as the op. Although I had bought the service pack on the e91, it was for 5 years not the current 3. A quick calculation ensued and as I would only obtain 1 service in the 3 year period and that's an oil change service, I decided that it was no longer worth it even allowing for service cost inflation.

This had been confirmed by the on board service calculator which tells me that my condition based servicing is due in 2019 (oil), 2020 (brake fluid), 2021 (vehicle check)

Dealer actively advised me not to bother with service pack on my latest BMW. The current 3 year package is not particularly good value if you're low mileage like the OP.

To the OP - G30 service requirements very simiular to F30. Oil change interval is condition based, my first service is predicted at 19,000 miles/2 years.

Unless your policies are different from the US, then there is a lesser of 10,000 miles or one year for oil change. So two to three oil changes in a three year period.

Yes my F30 was also 19,000 or just under 2 years old.

Sounds good to me, I just need to decide how long I’m taking it over and the figure out the costs.

How interesting that your schedules are much longer than ours! I would have trouble letting my oil stay in the car for two years.

In the US market, BMW includes all scheduled maintenance for 3 years or 36,000 miles whichever comes first, Until 2015-2016 it used to be 4 years or 50K miles, which matched the length of the new car warranty,

What is the BMW new car warranty coverage like in the UK?

My dealer advised me the service pack was no longer worth it, given the mileage limit, and to keep the money set aside in MY bank account rather than theirs.

Just to resurrect an old thread - I've just been quoted £406 for the first service, or £399 for the service pack.

If you are on a lease, simply take it to a Kwik-fit or someone like that. They can all do a OEM service as they call it for less than half that price.

Service pack is only worth it if you are doing high mileage as others have said before.

I do over 20k miles a year and the service pack is not worth it at this mileage either. I was quoted a main dealer oil service for £370. That will be at around 19,000 miles / 10 months. The second oil service + inspection service will come in at about 38,000 miles / 20 months, so because of the 3 year / 36 month limit on the service pack, it will cover only 1 oil service. I save £29 by not having the service pack. Go figure...

Hopefully the the cost of servicing the 4 banger would be less than for 6 banger G30. I have a service pack anyway (a bonus on top of the deal) and have used it once but probably the only time as it expires at 36,000 miles/3 years

New scheme at our dealership of 3 centres. 4 years from date of taking out pack @ £699. Including 2 oil service, 1 brake service and, 1 inspection service, all parts and labour. That's a great deal. Paid in instalments over 3 years a bit front loaded

I found that after you have negotiated the deal you are happy with, drop in the requirement for free services at the last minute as a requirement to "seal the deal".
Definitely worth trying to get it for free if you can
