I've been trying to get Advanced Eye 2 for my new G30 but my dealer hadn't heard of it. Since I have seen a picture of it online, I got in touch with BMW customer services and, after some enquires, I was a told that it had not been released yet for sale since it was being tested to ascertain it would work with all models. I was just told to keep checking and hopefully within the next six months or so it should go on sale. Strange way of doing things but there we are. Hope that helps everyone who is looking for it.

I've been told by a dealer that it will be ready in March/April this year.

I had to get V1 installed for my 30th April delivery and was advised it wont be around until May time. Now it looks beyond that. V1 isn't bad to be honest, especially as a deterrent to people wanting to scratch your car!

I got the 2.0 set installed today for my X6 E71 even though it wasn't on the supported models list.
First impressions: -Picture quality is ok but not great. Hard to see license plate numbers. -User interface through the Noritel Ace 2.0 Android app is easy but already had a connection issue once so I had to reset the camera. -It seems that you can also download videos to your phone through direct wi-fi but haven't tried it yet. -Couldn't get the GPS location to work yet. This might be a user based issue. -You can adjust the sensitivity of the g-force and proximity sensors. -You need to manually enable the permanent recording in the driving mode. -It will automatically delete the oldest material when the memory card gets full. |

What I’ve gathered from this forum is that there is a lot more car vandalism in the UK than in the states on nicer cars. What a strange occurrence. There are far less people using dashcams here to. Think partly cuz of over saturation of these cars here so they’re not as special.

Is it hardwired? It's just the warranty that I'm worried about.

Hence why i had mine installed by the dealers before pick up. Didnt want anyone other than dealers ripping apart the new car just yet!
An upgrade in the future maybe but at least for now its a deterrent! |

Not sure why you guys are so concerned about warranty with this. Hard wiring is easy you can do it yourself. There is a DIY posted here. No cutting, it's plug and play.
I had a dash cam and radar detector hard wired on all my cars. It's trivial. |

Instability problems with rebooting after every minute?
Hi guys,
If someone still following this could you please advice what do I supposed to do if the system is keep rebooting after every minute recorded? I've got the v1.0 and the local dealer sold me the kit with a big discount so they refused to take care of warranty. I'm using it for only 1 week and it was fine for the first couple of days but now I had to disconnect it's very annoying and useless. I have istalled it myself and I'm very much sure it's fine because it was working well for a while. I tried to format the memory card but the same thing happens again. I was looking but don't find any info on how to upgrade firmware. Thanks for any suggestions. Best Regards |
