G30 540i winter tire questions

I have a 540i coming in a couple weeks and will probably fit winter wheels/tires to it. I already have 18x8 ET30 Rial wheels from F30 that should work, but will need new tires. Couple questions...

1. Current wheels have 433mhz sensors...are these compatible with G30?

2. My preferred tire is a non-run flat for ride quality and perceived better resistance to pothole damage. Currently using Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 non-runflat 225/40-18 on F30 but only available in run-flat 245/45-18 for G30. Other non-runflat option is Blizzak LM001, or runflat Michelin Pilot Alpin or runflat Dunlop Wintersport 3D. Any others I should consider or just go with the Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 in runflat?

thanks.

New 5x112 bolt pattern on the G30, so wheels from the F30 won't fit.

how do you like the pirelli winter tires? i am getting my winter wheel set up now. and found a greatbdeal on the pirelli. I normally prefer the Michelin tires but read great reviews on the pirelli.

as far the the TPM sensors go i ordered a set from Tire rack. when i get home ill look to see what frequency they are

Really bad assumption on my part about the wheels. This never occurred to me. Thanks for pointing this out. Guess I need to star looking at new wheels as well.

I've used Dunlop Winter Sport 3D and Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 (both listed as Performance Winter/Snow tires by Tire Rack) on my cars the past 10+ winters. For the amount of snow we get in KY they were great tires. Really good wet and dry grip in the cold, plus good snow and slush traction in light snow (3" or less). Further north I'd opt for a better snow tire. I never worried about them being non-runflats in my E46/E90/F30 since I carried the M Mobility kit or equivalent. I'm a committed Michelin Pilot Sport owner for summer tires but would go with either of these again, maybe lean to the Pirelli because I think it's a newer design.

I feel your pain. Was going to use my winter wheels from my F31 until I started reading on the G30 threads.

I had Blizzak LM32 on the F31, however this time I'm switching to Conti TS-830P. My local dealer didn't have 850P at the time.

Are you changing from Blizzak to Conti due to available size or other reason? I have a strong preference for non runflats on 18" wheels in winter (taller, more compliant sidewall) but Tire Rack options for G30 has only Blizzak LM001 in 18". For 19" non runflats I could get Michelin Pilot Alpin 5, X-Ice X13, Conti Wintercontact SI or Pirelli Sottozero 3. More options if willing to go runflat. May just go with the 19" Sottozero 3 since I'm running these on the F30 now and like them.

I didn't really like the Blizzak. Really noisy and I never felt comfortable (safe), I did like the Dunlop wintersport 3D.

Conti gets seem to get good reviews in Europe so I've decided to give them a go. I'm switching from 19" to 18" (245/45/18).

updated ive finished getting the wheels, tires, tpm sensors, and new wheel studs. Everything turned out well. My only issue is the pirelli tires are a bit noisy. but when put to the test they worked fantastic. This is a picture during my visit with my parents in N.C. Also the sensors are 433 frequency

Great looking wheels, what are they/where did you get them? I've not found a 19" wheel I like on TR. As for the noise on the Pirelli's, they seemed less noisy than the Michelin PSS or PS4S so I guess I didn't notice on the 3er.
