Well, after 64 days since placing the order, my new 2021 BMW 540i xDrive is in my hands.

Better pictures ... and a video will come in the next couple of weeks. But for now, here you go.

Wow that looks great! When I ask myself what color is that? And think is that maybe a dark blue.. I know it must be Carbon Black. 😀

Thanks everyone! It's Carbon Black and the trim is Fineline Open Pored Ash. It is absolutely gorgeous in person. I am so excited I chose that trim.

Like the others, I also love the Carbon Black. But is your interior really Black Nappa leather? In the pictures it appears to me to be more of a brown or gray. Just the lighting? Great looking car though!--Bob

Thank you. Black nappa. The sunlight was making it look gray-ish.

I did not realize just how much the NAPA with Luxury Seating and massage has gone up in price. That’s $4,500 combining the three options. I may be off a hundred or two, but I think it was $3,600 on my 2017.

I’ve been amazed for many years at how much you have to spend on a 5 series to get ventilated seats. BMW offers ventilated seats on some models as a stand alone option for $350

It was $2600 for me on my 2018 530e MSport. $1K for the Nappa and $1.6K for the luxury seating package.

It was worth it to me to spend the money as I love the look and feel of nappa. I love the massaging seats as well. As for the ventilated seats, BMW has a lot to learn from many other brands ... including my son's Jeep Grand Cherokee which has some of the coldest ventilated seats I've felt.

I took delivery of my first BMW, a 2021 M550i, on 8/31. After four Audi A6s and two S6s, I'm loving the improved handling, power, tech and sophistication of my M550. Audis are fantastic cars, but this BMW is, so far, the most impressive car that I have ever owned.

Here is a photo of my new ride. The color is bluestone metallic. I had a 30% ceramic tint installed on the side windows and rear windscreen. I applied two coats of graphene coating which really makes it shine and easier to keep clean.

Very nice. Is it the lighting, graphene or both giving the bluestone metallic that deep rich shine.
