Apple CarPlay Blues

Anyone else having issues with CarPlay?

My issue is regular drop outs when playing Tidal. This is both gaps while playing songs as well as suddenly dropping CP altogether and then minutes later it returns. Also track changes can lock up for seconds at times. I was chalking the stuttering up to playing lossless with Tidal and maybe the higher bitrate streams were bogging the BT/wireless connection down. I have also had dropped phone calls when using the phone from CP - when using iDrive Com, no drops.

Running current OS 12 on an iPhone X.

Yes, I'm having the same issue.
I get the same dropouts when listening to Apple Music and podcasts. It's quite sporadic as sometimes it will play for an hour or so then drop out, but on other occasions it drops out every few minutes.
I can't work out what causes it, and sometimes I have to 'reset' the iDrive system (hold the power button for about 20 seconds or so) before it will re-connect.
I think I may have to drop in to the dealership!

I'm having similar problems. CarPlay always connects quickly when I start the car, and I do believe audio quality for Spotify is better than iDrive/Bluetooth. The issue I have is audio drop-out's that range from a fraction of a second to 2-3 seconds. The song keeps playing (timer on the screen continues counting down), just the audio gets lost. From playing around, I'd started to come the conclusion is was based on the phone (iPhone 8) overheating, since it happened more often when on the wireless charger which heats up the phone too. Other times it seems random. I've wondered if the wireless antenna for the car is dislodged or blocked in some way..
