Brake pedal sinks a little bit towards the floor when stop
My brake pedal sometimes sinks a little bit towards the floor when stopped, or while my foot is on the brake after starting the car . This situation happens more often when use auto hold feature.
Technicians at dealer said it's normal because auto hold feature apply on brake when stop. But my X5 brake pedal never sinks with auto hold feature. Anyone knows what happen? Should I go to another dealer checking out? Last edited by baseballD; 12-13-2018 at 08:35 AM.. |

Difference in the X5, could be you need more brake pressure to initially stop, (possible servo rating rather than load on the pedal). AutoHold may not be adding much to the brake pressure to hold the vehicle. |

I don't have quite what you describe, or at least I haven't thought about it before. However, having had an E60 M Sport for nine years, and now having a G30 M Sport with M Sport brakes, I do notice one slight difference. In the new car I feel like when I first touch the brake coming to a stop that nothing happens in the first half inch or so of pedal travel. It doesn't even kick off the cruise control until the pedal is a little farther down and braking starts; my other car did so immediately. The brakes work fine and in fact are clearly better than my old car's standard brakes. But it is just a bit disconcerting to me. I have only a few hundred miles on the car so I maybe I will get used to it. Just not yet. Oddly, a car friend of mine drove the car recently and when I mentioned this he said he had not noticed anything wrong with the brakes. Anyone else notice this or am I just imagining things? --Bob
