Scion FR-S vs. My 128i convertible
So last night after school I pulled up beside a fellow student who was driving either the Subaru BRZ or Scion FR-S. I looked at him as a joke and revved.
Light turned green and off we went. I had a trunk full of washer fluid, oil, and my school stuff as well as my girlfriend and the 100kg more weight of the convertible. We were neck and neck up to 140kmh before he braked and turned off. Is it his power to weight ratio that made it so close? Just a funny experience. FR-S - Curb Weight: 2760lbs 128i vert (auto): 3571lbs?! Jesus... I think I just answered my own question. Maybe he had mods? LOL

There is a 30hp disparity, you have an auto, and are close to 1000lbs heavier.
Seems like things went better than expected for you.

Those diamond plate panels always dislodge when your manifold over heats from too much boost in your 7 speed gearbox.

The 128i 6MT has a 0-60 time of 5.8s and the FRS is more like 6.1 or something like that so it should be pretty close. That said, I'm pretty sure on an actual track, stock vs stock, the FRS will beat the 128i due to its weight and handling.

Stock for stock I doubt it. Modded even less so.

Ive raced an BRZ on the autobahn and won twice. His car is modded, mine is stock. From a 100 Km/H roll I pulled the whole way. I'm not sure about an actual track, as the BRZ is very nimble and light, but so is the 128i.....

Scion FRS/Subaru BRZ needs a EJ257 motor.

I'm tired of LS swaps. "Like a retard on Viagra, they will put it in anything."

Cheap, plentiful, easy to work on, reliable, light weight for its size, reasonably fuel efficient, endless power from modding, sounds good, and strong.

Most guys around here go with LSX motors for turbo applications because they are cast iron.

I hate how often LS motors are used, but i entirely understand why. They're easy to work on, easy to get parts for and they make reliable power. They're not my favorite sounding motor but they don't sound bad by any means.
