Man she's pretty...how do you like the ceramic coating?

While I do love the engine in my 540, I personally wouldn’t bother with the upgrade. Stick with what you’ve got for a few more years, if there are no problems with it. It’s still a fantastic car.

I am not a fan of bluestone for the same reasons, it's just not that remarkable and doesn't shine. I keep my cars clean and I don't mind it. Before ceramic, I would say swirls were another reason to go with a pale color, but no more swirls. Even if my car is dirty for a bit, when you clean it, it's like a rush on how good it looks. You can barely tell when silver or bluestone is dirty or clean.
Fair enough, to each his own and I have full respect for color choices and the motivation behind them. For the record, I do like almost all the color choices on the palette including Silverstone, although that color just isn't for me.

I just could never let my choice be driven by how easy it is to keep clean, how well it looks dirty or how well it hides scratches. I want the color the car looks the most badass in when it rolls off the assembly line. I enjoy keeping it clean. I'm part of the OG crowd.

My car is also garaged, not my daily driver and never sees winter. So it's probably easier for me than most to keep it clean. I also don't drive it during pollen season.

It pretty much looks like this all the time.

I guess it's all relative … I thought an M5 was too $$…

A really nice used CPO M550i is probably about $50k. Not bad for what you get but more than a 540 for sure

$50k for a m550 is pretty decent. 540s are going for about $45k around here.

The #1 thing I miss when I drive other cars from my G30 540I is the HUD, I constantly look for it, it really is surprising how much I like such a simple addition to the vehicle. I have not driven a G30 530I but after having the B58 I could not imagine living with a 4 cyl.

Different strokes for different folks. I have the HUD and I rarely look at the instrument cluster so for me, I wouldn't care about the "better display" behind the steering wheel.

Curious c3r2z8f30i -- do you have a HUD?
Yes
