yeah it turns out to be the fuel pump and fuel filter. i asked them if it was my fault to cause this malfunction and they said no. so should i be responsible to pay for the repair or should BMW take care of it?

Unfortunately unless you can get a goodwill gesture from the dealership, you'll have to foot the bill for it. It's out of warranty and it's normal wear and tear. It shouldn't've failed so early but it does. I just had to replace the front shocks and axle boots on my Jeep, I'm lucky they managed for as long as they did. I haven't been so lucky with other things. Good luck man. |

Ouch! This is definitely an argument for getting an extended warranty for these cars IF you plan to keep them longer. The cost of this repair almost cost as much as the ext. warranty.

I thought the fuel pump was covered under an extended warranty? Is that only to original owners?

yeah it is always a good idea to get the ext warranty. i think the battery is the only thing that isnt covered with the warranty, but you might wanna double check.
after fixing my car the RPM keeps bouncing around when it is started. its like it wants to drive although im not pressing the gas. anyone knows why the RPM keeps bouncing? |

should've got the part numbers, purchased them yourself, and brought it to a 3rd party shop. i would never buy anything from BMW... unless that was my last resort. I asked for a quote for a passenger side mirror and they said 900$ just for parts, i got them online for like 160$.... Big difference.
