Right hand side mirror dipping when reversing?

How do I know if I have this function and if so, where do I enable it in iDrive? Even though I have surround view, mirrors work better IMO...

Slide the mirror selector button on the door to the driver side. Then when you shift into reverse the passenger mirror should dip to show the curb.

Hmm that didn't work? The function should come as standard, right? (my car is from Germany)

Not necessarily, I think it may be dependent on options fitted to the car. Search these forums but I think you may need the electric mirrors ( I c ant think what they are called where you can retract the mirrors)
And it might be tied to other options aswell possibly

Yes, you need electric mirrors. Surround view has nothing to do with mirror dipping. That's based on cameras not the mirrors.

I always find the mirror was dipping too low when reverse. Is the coding the only way to change that? Is there any other way to change the dipping mirror angle?

I am quite sure this is via coding only.
BimmerCode allows from 10%-100% tilt values in increments of 10%.

Yes...you either readjust your driver's seat to a normal/average seating position...or the side mirrors (where they aren't focused where they view the entire side of the car or start off already with a view too low to the ground. When the seat is pushed too far back, too low, or too high...then the angle of the mirror that is based on an average seating arrangement will seem incorrect...or if the mirrors are adjusted at a view too close to the side of the car...the tilt-in-reverse angle can appear wrong to the driver.

(This is assuming that you may not be using an average seat & mirror setting)
