As title reads would love to have a running thread of car challenges in a safe environment and how your car did against the challenger. Think it will be great read! Even your videod gains from stock to tuned and so on. Like a progress bench to offer up for our reading enjoyment! Majority of us mod, tune and do cosmetics, coding tricks, be great to have all in one thread!

I'll start first, had Dinan V2 on my 2019 M550i from 4000 miles until I went full stage 1 evolve tune and I'll post up draggy runs for all 3 ( stock, Dinan and evolves stage 1 tune) with some recaps of what car I was able play with or got played by! I have a live session tomorrow morning to log the car live with Irman to get it perfect on the tune to my tastes. Anyway love to hear some fun stuff if anyone has kill stories

I still have not seen an instrumented test on the 2020. It is a car that I lust after. You have it covered with Dinan.

I’ve had seven Corvettes, my last a C6 Z06. During that time I hung out with a handful of guys who as a group were not above doing some “roll ons”.

I definitely don't want to draw too much heat with my first post but do people really "challenge" cars at this segment? Coming from mostly 2 door muscle cars I feel like it is always the 4-banger/german driving guys who want to mess around.

Passing by a hellcat most people in a nice german performance sedan just give you the nod or occasional thumbs up. Than you have the guys who zoom by traffic and give you a weird look as they speed past you, not sure why but 99.9% of the time they are in a white msport package 4 cylinder car lol.

For some reason anytime I see a camaro SS, they start to drive all crazy and weave in and out of traffic trying to race me.

And also the 392 dodge guys, which in stock form the m550i will beat, not counting the dinan elite v2 that I have now.

Have never raced though, and don't plan on it, the penalties in so. cal are just not worth it.

My outcome is simple. Let them go! Racing on city streets is not worth it.

I think we're talking different type of racing. I mean hit it from a light to about 60 when they realize the all wheel drive thing.
I can't believe how some of the kids literally on you tube race between cars putting people at risk. It's moronic.

I love the 392 guys all loud and grunting around town, same with vette and mustangs, they all rev at the light until you it hit with LC

We're a special bread though too.

Just the other day a couple of yahoos in their Dodge Ram pickup truck were not happy with me driving at the speed limit on a Toronto expressway, so they were taunting/ challenging me to a little highway race I suppose. Another day a boy racer in his ridiculous looking Honda Civic R, or whatever, wanted to see who was faster off a red-to-green streetlight. And so it goes. I do not care, I stopped doing street racing some 40 years ago.
I drive defensively for safety, comfort and fuel economy. However, when safety considerations require it, I have no hesitation gunning my 2019 M550i X Drive. Sometimes for fun too, on an empty and safe stretch of a hwy.

It's pointless racing on the street, you'll usually completely smoke them but the thing is they never give up and keep racing you until you decide it's not worth the speeding ticket risk anymore lol

My wife tends to end up with more people trying to race her when she's driving my porsche or her M550. I have raced a select few, C7 GS, Audi S5 and lost to my buddies RS7. I have taken both my Porsche and the M550 to the track and both put identical 1/4 times(12.2) down but the Porsche trapped at 117 and the M550 at 112.

I thought neighbors at the north are friendly/benign in general.....I didn't think this kind of "shenanigan" exist at your neck-of-the-woods. I guess there are clowns everywhere though. Just sayin'.

It's everywhere, down here it's Honda's/ dodge's and mustangs. Not many real cars like to play. When I had my M5 people aside from Honda's would shy away. This car doesn't look like it does what it does so if I'm ever game to play I look like an old woman in a regular sedan and don't think it's taken seriously aside from those who know what we're putting down.
I got to run a 2010 ZR1 when I had Dinan V2 Pluged in and due to his driving ability even with him having 630hp but a manual trans I walked away from 2 runs from 0-80
I recently went stage one tune from evolve and considering going to track night when it cools off a little.

" Friendly/benign" Canucks ? I think that is a myth Canadians like to toss at the world. In reality, we are no different than the drivers in Buffalo, Detroit, NYC etc. The only place in North America where I have seen a more polite/considerate sort of drivers is SW Florida. Perhaps that has something to do with the area demographics, i.e., lots of elderly people in Florida, and I guess drivers tend to mellow with age. Unfortunately, there is an opposite effect at play too: with age our reflexes and senses become more sluggish/impaired, and we start to drive in a hesitant and sloooow manner.

I live on FL's west coast, and while I find it a bit calmer than driving in Miami or Orlando, there is plenty of aggression to go around. I don't see drivers wanting to race me as much as go out of their way to be impolite, like closing gaps when I signal to change lanes or tailgating on the highway just to pass me and slow down to my same speed. Oddly I find this more in our 540i than when I drive our M4CS.

so dinan has a. stage 2 for the m550i and what n63 code works?

No the unit for the M550 is the V2 piggy back. Stage 2 is when you replace down pipes with cat less ones and get a stage 2 tune.
