I recently took wife's 530e for oil change service. The SA said there was a recall, something to do with the brightness of the back up camera and car needed to be reprogrammed.
Prior to this, the full battery range was 18 miles (I know because I'm the one who unplug the charger every morning). But now the range is only 13 miles. I'm not sure if this is due to the reprogramming they did, but it looks like it. Has anyone noticed this? |

Mine did the same thing. Ignore it. It is merely a prediction based on past driving, streets, weather, etc. Once the computer was reprogrammed, it defaulted back to 13. It will likely slowly rise.
If you think you are getting less travel, use your odometer to check. |

Thanks for the response! This morning I had a chance to drive her car. I used Max e Drive mode with the battery full after overnight charge. It was about 1 mile from the house to the freeway and I accelerated slowly and kept 70 mph on the freeway. I think I was able to get about 19 or 20 miles before the engine kicked in.
Lo and behold when I plugged it to charge, the display is now showing 18 miles range. |

Hate to say this, but I think something similar happened to Model X/S owners and now there is a class action lawsuit. Curious if the same thing is in the works for e-Drive owners too?
