Display Key option - how many normal keys ?

Anyone else in the UK with the Display Key option: how many "normal" keys did you get ? I think you're supposed to get 2, but I only received 1.

TIA

Hi AP, that would make sense wouldn't it: 3 profiles, 3 keys. I've already exported my current profile to a USB as I'm paranoid about the car losing settings on switching between keys, based on complaints on a thread I think I've seen on here ?

Having read the manual, this seems right:
- all cars get 2 normal remote keys with physical keys integrated in them;
- cars with tech pack/display key option also get 1 display key and 1 separate physical key.

So, to summarise the features of the display key:
- it's stupidly big;
- it's stupidly expensive to replace;
- it's stupidly designed, so a physical key can't be integrated into it;
- it has less functionality than the BMW Connected app (which is free as long as you've got remote services).

I wonder how much mine would fetch on ebay ?!

Well it is not that big really and it is faster to check with a display key whether you had locked your car or not whilst about to leave a big car park than using the app. Those of us with mild OCD regarding above would appreciate this. It has prevented endless returns to the car to be double sure 'it is really locked'

You should get it from the dealer quickly before you have to pay for it yourself.

Hi Babaikram,

Tell me about that OCD

To be honest though, I actually find the app pretty easy and quick to use and (i) I always have the phone with me anyway (ii) the app will give me current vehicle status wherever I am in the world whereas the display key can only get the vehicle's status when it's within range.

I agree that the display key is stupidly big.
Would never have ordered it standalone and it's currently in a drawer while I decide if I'm going to use it at all.

Why do BMW keep giving us 'first world' problems?

It's not that big depending on your perspective , for me that's not that big .
I already posted these images , it can get lost into the lighter's pocket if it's deep enough or can get out of the pocket
I can fit it in my blue jeans along with 2 other smart phones
