LSD?

Wondering if anyone has fitted a Limited Slip and if it made any noticeable improvement in the fun factor of driving the car.

I've installed the Quaife on several of my cars. It's always been good fun.

I didn't liked the "active" LSD on my M3.

I've never tried the Quaife on an x-drive car, though.

Cheers

Is the Quaife a simple swap? Just take out entire OEM pumpkin and swap new Quaife pumpkin? Any coding needed after swap?

I had one on my f30, it was a simple swap, no coding needed.

I might do it as well on the m550i, but i'm not sure it's that useful on an xdrive

On my 335 it has been a super upgrade, however this after I could code out a lot of stuff, some even very lowlevel.
Long story short, unless you can and know what to change on your DSC/ABS unit and somehow you can tell the X-drive that you are running an LSD, I would not do this.

FYI: running wrong size tyres could already affect the X-drive up to severe damages, so...

If it's like the C7 RS6/7 platform the best upgrade is a front LSD but no one does that yet. Took 10 years for it to appear for the RS.
