Ricciardo got too much money from Renault .
He did get plenty, but the only reason he decided to go with Renault was because Ferrari elected to take a handed on Leclerc instead. Given the chance, I'm sure Ricciardo would have taken a race seat at Ferrari over a larger paycheck at Renault.

That's what I think in his initial year, like Charles,he would have a 'starter salary' then progress to space shot pay when progressing effectively.

Agreed. And given his skill level, he probably could have earned quite a bit that way while driving a race winning car.

I read that after Leclerc's win at Monza, there is speculation his salary could double or even triple for next year.

I'd have a smile just as big for a fraction of what he's getting

Just to clarify, I think the $49m sum is in AUD. Converted to USD, it appears to be around $33m, which is more in line with the earnings I've seen other articles mention.

If it's US$33m then still nothing to be sniffed at and I can see Christian RB manager from now on hiding his red face.

Nothing to be sniffed at indeed!

Christian Horner hasn't really been "hiding" though. He actually made a few comments alluding to running from the challenge Verstappen posed to him at the team.

Perhaps this is a motivating factor following the Monza GP -

"In their report, the stewards said it deemed it a "dangerous incident". On top of his in-race penalty, Vettel was awarded three points on his superlicence, meaning he now has accumulated nine over a rolling 12-month period.

A driver is automatically banned for one race if they accumulate 12 points in that time span. None of Vettel's existing points expire until the U.S. Grand Prix in November, meaning the German driver will be on thin ice in the races before then."

....discredit the FIA and the massive points VET has against his Superlicence is quite interesting....it seems as if your afinity for unchecked destruction on-track does qualify you for embracing your local demolition derby.

Spoiler alert....Dr Marko will not be present at your demolition derby to search out the brightest young stars.

Your omission of my post is obvious which reads....
"Great to see Vettel win and drive a clean race" does leave your "editing" in question....

It's an anomaly that was brushed conveniently under the fia carpet whichever way you try to turn it:couldn't see because of fia safety regulations.
They would lose if it was taken further beyond the fia procedure, it would not stand up in a court because of the very obvious points which you are ignoring.

....and determine if your conspiracy theory has merit....if yes, suggest presenting your premise to the FIA....keep us updated....and don't forget to challenge all of VET's Superlicence penalties.

Formed in1904,I have no beef with the chequered history of the FIA,especially when it was under Mr.Balestre but I am sticking with the plain facts and perhaps annoyingly for you I used to work for a large lawyer's firm.

Ferrari legal dept would do this not me, why would I,they'd have more clout than me.
Ferrari are on a seemingly winning streak and taking this further would
not be good for F1 or Fia with the closed shop decision taken there.
I am speaking as a layman and my opinion is that Fia would lose should an
appeal go outside of fia's jurisdiction. It was a knee jerk panic reaction from them rather than a thought out resolution to it.
Using bold lettering is not helping your cause.
