I actually like it! Pretty bold and daring, with classic BMW styling cues. Kudos!

I really liike it. Of course if this would come out as M2 CSL they would smooth things a bit but it's just looks good in my eyes.

The video further cemented my initial opinion. I love this car. I've spent a lot of time around 02's and this is great nod to them. So many details picked from the 02 are present.

I don't get it. How this is related to the 2002 at all is a mystery. Maybe the headlights are a homage but otherwise it is a small Mopar.

If BMW does well, the hope is they do it with the other models.

It looks like a 2 series shell from the windows and roof structure.

Not a fan though...

If you treat it like a Magic Eye book and just blur your eyes and don't focus on it, the underlying shape that comes out looks ok. That's the best I can say.

I completely agree. I understand the "Golden Anniversary" thing with the gold headlight surrounds, but it is completely distracting to the front end which looks good outside of the headlight design. I actually see a lot of E46 M3 CSL in the overall shape of the front 3/4 shots.

The side is incredibly too busy though. They tried wayyy too hard to make it interesting and not hard enough to making it beautiful. The sharp creases are just ugly, but if they weren't so sharp and jagged, and instead were more flowing and natural this car would look miles better from the side. The only part I would completely remove is the cutout just aft of the upper door. It has really no purpose and just makes the side too busy and cluttered. The rear is decent but could do with more shaping, e.g. it would look much better if they actually did the duck/cam tail like were shown in the sketches.

The more I look at it, the more I really really like it. Not only that, but it sounds good too. I mean what did you guys expect? A carbon copy of the original 2002? I personally thought the M1 Hommage was boring at best.

I really would love to see this in real life to get the full picture. When the M4 GTS came out, I really hated that thing. But in real life, the car looks so much better in person (wheels look better, the orange accents are more like copper accents and the spoiler/lip combo does not looked tacked on)

The car sounds amazing in that video! I'm not very fond of the front end, but I love the stance and the rear.

And of course, the wheels need to get a production model asap

Thanks for sharing this video. It made me like this car even more. After reading the comments about the side I agree it's too busy. That with the lights need some tweaking in the design. They have a very good shell to smooth out and make a very nice car. If they didn't have so many series I would say they could make some changes and sell it as a new 2002. But please no more series.

Agreed, there are elements of the concept car that is a little too busy which would never make it into production anyway. But imagine this thing in Mineral Grey or Black Sapphire (which would tone down the sides a bit). I think it would look down right menacing! I'd rock it
