G31 is the overall winner
Whatcar compared BMW 5 series touring to Mercedes Benz touring and Volvo V90. It came out top. One of the main reasons for the win is the 'quality of the interior material of the G31 compared to Mercedes Benz'.

You guys in Europe are lucky. We don't get the G31 in the US. I do not quite understand why as the emissions etc would be the same as for a G30. Seems like BMW and MB have divided the wagon market here. MB no longer does a C class wagon but has an E-class, and BMW no longer does a 5 series but has a 3 series. I have the 3 wagon (F31) but it is much smaller than my previous E61 and smaller still than a MB E350 wagon (like my wife's). Word is they would prefer to sell SUVs (ok, SAVs), but some of us (many I think) prefer wagons.
