Coding G3X

Hi all,

It's been a while since I did any coding (F31 on 2014), using Esys+EST token from TM. Anyway a lot has changed especially with the trimmed files, launcher pro, etc etc.

Anyone help me with some knowledge gaps?

1. Do you need Launcher Pro to code on the G3X? Or is Launcher Premium fine? I've read that Pro handles the mapping of the trimmed files better???

2. I need to reset HU_NBT_EVO to default, do I need still need Launcher Prem/Pro?

Thanks.

1. You'll need Launcher Pro 3.0 to code G chassis.
2. You don't need Launcher to reset module.

Is there a website to purchase this stuff? I'm used to the VW/Audi vagcom cable and software for coding.

You can't purchase them.
The Launcher Pro, you need to get it from Tokenmaster.
He doesn't sells it, but he only will give it to you after you donate to some organization that he approves or something like that.

While the softwares are available freely online or you can ask Shawnsheridan.

I can code remotely too.
You'll have all the latest software but the Launcher Pro key.

Everything is free, apart from Launcher Pro 3.X, which is $50 donation to a charity. You need to send TokenMaster some proof.

Here is guide of what you need: https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=983245

As per the comment from r33_RGSport, coding the G series cars, you need Launcher Pro. I've got a copy of Launcher Premium and some of the mapping in E-sys for my car are just gibberish.

Alternatively, have a look at http://www.bimmercodeapp.com, I've tried it and it works well, good for quick changes for "supported" ECU's. Esys has deeper functionality/learning curve....but not too difficult.....just follow the guides!

Good luck.

Need more expensive adapter to code additional ECU's, but still not all are supported. E-sys is safer and can fix issues if you make a mistake.

Hey Almaretto, slightly off topic but do you know if TokenMaster is still supporting Launcher? Like many I've sent a donation directly to TM (via PayPal). Sitting around waiting for reply.

I didn't want to go to eBay for a 10 year code and want to support his cause.

Cheers.

That I know not. I have not spoken with him for a few months.

I’ve supported MHHAUTO has all the automobile software and made donations to him in the past. I’m about to clean install my laptop and install the 'all in one BMW software ver7' for a onetime donation of $80.

My list of things to code :

1. Car play lifetime with full screen
2. Harmon kardon retro install
3. Full Idrive and euro maps update
4. Gearbox software update

1. Carplay requires FSC code and different software for full screen.
2. Does not require Launcher.
3. Full IDrive?
4. ECU update just requires full PSdzdata.

Hi, Everyone. I need some help. Has anybody else received this "Coding of the ECU failed." error with BimmerCode? I can't stand that the newer models don't remember the last auto/start/stop setting. This is the one feature that I really want to enable and of course it's the only one giving me an error. I have submitted a support case through the BimmerCode app. My vehicle is a 2019 M550ix. Thanks.

Problem resolved! Received the following feedback from BimmerCode:

"Hi,
you have to code the engine unit without the engine running. Just start diagnostic mode."

I did have the engine running at the time I tried it.

Engine can, and should, be running while coding so voltage does not drop below threshold and car shutdown in the middle of pushing changes.

One exception, engine. So, just make sure car battery is in good shape then shutoff before coding.

Thank you. I have been letting the engine run for all the other mods. Glad BimmerCode told me what I was doing wrong. It's a brand new car, so plenty of battery. I might need your services for iDrive 7.0!

I've been told the coding was possible if you have the enhanced display that comes with the executive package. 6WB I think it's called.

Can anyone here provide some more info? Can someone do this remotely?

I believe Almaretto said it was possible somewhere on thread or another thread on this forum. I don't know any of the details beyond that. What I do know is that on the 2019 X5's and X7's the display screen is 2.3 inches larger. Not sure if that makes any difference or not.

HU_NBT2 can be ID4, ID5, or ID6.
HU_MGU can be ID7 or 8.
