looking at 530e - M Sport Package questions

Hi Folks,

I am looking at getting a 530e and really like the look of the M Sport package but other than the bumpers and wheels what really am I getting for $4750?

I primarily want to get Driving Assistance Plus, Surround View.

Thanks

Thanks jjrandorin,

I am not sure from the pricing guide, does it include the Dynamic Damper or Dynamic Handling? My understanding is that they are extra add ons?

I am also looking for folks experience with the package, what they love/hate about it and what might be missing, do they feel they got their money's worth?

Thanks

No. Read the post above. They are add on options and pricing is detailed above; Dynamic Damper control is $1K, Dynamic Handling is $1.4K.

Something to think about, the M Sport package includes:
  • Convenience package $1.4K - Power tailgate, comfort access keyless entry, Heated front seats and Sirius XM
  • Dakota Leather Seats $1.4K

That alone is $2.8K. So for another $2k you are getting:
  • 19" wheels
  • Stilling upgrades
  • LED foglights
  • M Sport suspension

I thought it was worth it. In the end, the decision is totally personal. Good luck!

I have a Bluestone Metallic M Sport 530e in production at the moment scheduled to complete Monday. I added the premium and executive packages along with driving assistance plus, multi contour seats, Harmon Kardon sound and black kidney grills. I can’t wait!

I loaded mine up as well. You left out one key element of the msport package...the msport steering wheel. Along with the accelerator pedal and the driver seat, this is the part of the car one touches the most and the MSport steering wheel is a terrific feature.

For the 530e, the dynamic handling package (at least for my 2018 model) was the dynamic dampers and the msport brakes. In my view, the msport brakes are nice but not essential (I did get the dynamic handling package). I then had Almaretto code my car so that the car defaulted to the adaptive drive. When I want more sporty performance, I toss the gear shifter to the left.

No matter what, I think you will really like your 530e; I know I thoroughly enjoy driving mine. I have always had any power I need. But if BMW asked (which it won't) I would ask for a 540e with the 250 HP ICE coupled with the electric motor. This I would pay for.

The new X5 will have a 6 cylinder engine I believe, coupled with the electric engine. I think that should be the future for the electric (performance) models.

Bigger batteries, and bigger ICE engine, so more performance when you want it, but more time on electric only.. something like 50 -70 miles.

I know but I don't want to drive a large truck. Hopefully it will come down to the 5 series (or the 3 series...I really like a smaller car). Right now they are only using the bigger combo on the X5 and the 7 series.

Right... I was meaning I was hoping that it would come down to the 5 series as well (I agree with you).

I'm in South California and looking for a 2018 530e as well.
For me, I'd like the surround view, sunshade, and the lightning upgrade
What is your best discount offers so far? The best I was offered is $5K off from MSRP $55K. I hope I can score a better deal than that during Thanksgiving week or Christmas.

The other thing you get with the M Sport package is the Sport+ driving mode, at least on most BMWs.

Only on 540i + models. So not available in Diesels or 530 models.

It's scheduled for production, so not purchased yet, but when I was looking at the ones on the dealer lots, I got a couple of offers at 13% off MSRP (including the 2k loyalty credit)

Give Kevin Hite a call at Crevier. He has been a long time supporter of BMW CCA and he is a nice guy. I just bought my Alpine White 2018 530e with M-Pkg and leather from him. I am so happy with the car and the deal I got. If you can take delivery of a 2018, there is an additional discount from BMW Financial Services that is on top of the discount Crevier is offering.

Good luck!

The car has been on the boat for the last 4 weeks, I don't have any nails left to chomp

Going back to my original m-sport question, it seems the 530e does not come with the m sport suspension. On the spec sheet it said standard suspension. Is it because of the batteries and shielding them from the harsher ride? If so glad I ordered the adaptive drive.
