M Performance Carbon Fiber Project - DONE

Over the last few months I have been working on finishing the carbon fiber portion of my modifications so I thought I would share a few crappy cell phone pics.

All OEM M Performance parts: front splitter, M Pro spoiler, rear diffuser, side skirts, and mirrors.

I also added IND-Distribution painted front and rear reflectors and set of painted gloss black front and back BMW roundels.

My next projects on deck in the next 60 days are: HRE wheels (ordered 3 weeks eta), a much-needed spring or coil over drop, black power coating for my MPPSK exhaust tips.

Any comments or suggestions for improvement???

Looks great! I'm glad you posted these. My 540 is black and I've been on the fence regarding the side skirt. They look great on white g30's but you rarely see them on darker colors. My primary hang up was the white m performance logo which I'd prefer not to have on my car. Did you have an option for all black or do something different? Great looking ride.

Damn am I jealous! I’ve added all these parts but aftermarket. Definitely a difference. Nice work!

How easy was it to do the skirt extension? Just a bunch of screws?

OEM side skirts come with 2-sided tape, a bunch of self tapping screws, and a bunch of plastic rivets. Not a difficult install, just takes a while to install all the screws and rivets. You need a simple rivet tool too.

Looks awesome, nice job! One thing you might want to consider is painting the rear bumper trim your body paint color or gloss black.

All black on which piece?

Disregard. After looking closer from my computer I see you have actual CF skirts which are different than the m performance skirts which include the decals. The CF looks much nicer.

FYI, OEM side skirts do not come with the decals; they are separate items and separate orders.

Yes sir it's on my list. I am going to have it painted DGM to match my body paint at some point in time after I recover from my upcoming wheel/tire/drop project.

Looks good.
Should add the AutoTecknic M550iX style CF bumper trim, CF fender trim, and CF Kidney surround.

Here are the pictures from my car.

I forget, the lower bumper trim is for the 550 correct? I don't think the diffuser itself will fit correctly with the OEM standard m package lower trim - I think there's an indent in the lower bumper trim for the diffuser to "sit" in correct? wish someone had a pic of the lower trim without the diffuser installed

Damn it RG!...I was hoping you wouldn't chime in. Every time I look at your original 540 build thread it costs me more $

When I was new to this forum and looking for ideas your posts were very helpful, thanks for the inspiration.

At this time I am trying to remain true to the OEM M Performance parts theme but I may be forced to sway away to after market parts for the minor details due to the lack of availability.

I appreciate your response. Thank you sir!

I don't mean to get you into something that you don't want.

As I said, your car coming along nicely.

Yes, my bumper trim is from a 550 because the MPPSK exhaust system I have has a larger exhaust tip than the standard OEM exhaust.

Yes, it has an indent in the middle. You will need the matte black lower bumper trim (part # 51192412409)

Did you use 51192412410 which is for the m550 to fit the larger exhaust tips? I have the MPE and think I may have ordered the wrong trim for my 540.
